Our expandable carbonized bark-less willow teepee is self-standing. Constructed from skinless processed willow saplings nailed together on the diagonal portion of the structure, our trellis is sturdy enough for tomatoes and adds a rustic look to your garden. 3-sided construction lets you place the trellis over plants or you can grow them around its perimeter.

The willow teepees are pretty, and much better to look...
The willow teepees are pretty, and much better to look at than wire cages. The deer were initially afraid of them, but are now sticking their noses through and nibbling on my fruit trees. I tried wrapping them in chicken wire, which works, but doesn't look so nice. I also put chicken wire cages around the bush and then the teepee on top of it, which looks much better and keeps the deer out. You will need to secure them to the ground as they blow down in a strong wind. I used one for a grape vine which is happily climbing up the teepee. I really love these, and hope they will hold up for a few seasons. The only negative is that 2 of the ones I bought had fewer willow sticks, with a wider grid, and those are very easy to get through, and not as sturdy.
