If you opt to install it without the spout, you will have to plug one outlet, cap the tub spout pipe off behind the shower wall and then address the opening in the shower wall. Moen does not manufacture/sell “wall caps”. A:  So the answer of ½" IPS does not answer the simple question that was asked. Is the hole ¾" or 1"?
