Therefore we cannot recommend that it be used in this manner. You may want to view the Moen Home Care 20 in. W x 12 in. D Plastic Shower Seat in Glacier White, model number DN7035 which does not have a backrest. A:  Yes the seat itself will be plenty stable. The four mounting screws will have to be shorter, because they go through the L tubes for the back and then through the U tubes for the legs.
