Does the spout swivel or is it fixed in place?

It swivels. It surprised me that it did, but that is great!

My lift rod will not completely close as it hits the back of the back splash. The lift rod has a bend in it and the channel is at an angle. Not sure what else to do. The plumber could also not figure this out.

I ended up ordering Moen 131553BN (popup drain with overflow) since I had a sink with overflow.

Does the Chrome finish show fingerprints and water drops? I have little kids and I don't want the faucet to look a mess. Wondering if I need to go with the brushed nickel to prevent the marks? Anyone have any feedback to help me decide? :)
Asked by: ashley
I haven't experienced fingerprints but some water drop marks (and that would probably depend on the hardness of your water) - but easy to wipe off intermittently. Not sure about nickel finishes, but I'd guess you'd have similar problems.

Let me start by saying that if it weren't so much trouble I would take it out and take it back to Home Depot. The lift rod hole is so close to the drain nut that you have to completely flatten out the drain gasket to get the nut tight on the pivot rod - and really bad design and I was afraid of chipping the bottom of the sink/counter because of the pressure I had to put on the drain nut. The lift rod and the lift rod strap go in at a terrible angle making it extremely difficult to get the two pieces to work together. We will not be able to pull the drain rod up because it is at such a sharp angle toward the back of the vanity and does not work up and down easily. We will have to be satisfied with pushing drain plug down with our hand to close the drain. Apparently this faucet is designed to be installed on a sink with holes at least or 6" from the backsplash. I have been satisfied with Moen products in the past, but this has changed my mind. I still might take it out and return it. There should be an installation warning on the box about the clearances.

As the owner of two Moen Banbury bathroom vanity fixtures, I feel this is a solid addition to any bathroom. My recommendation in favor of the Moen Banbury bathroom faucet comes, however, with a strong caveat for those who get it in mind, like I did, to spring for additional pieces from this collection (more on that in a second). Aesthetically, Moen's Banbury series is one of the more graceful designs I've seen. Initially I made this purchase at a Home Depot store in chrome — but after six months I swapped it out for the Mediterranean Bronze finish, which is a better match for my bath. As an FYI to my fellow shoppers, the drain-stopper for the Mediterranean Bronze version of this fixture is plastic, whereas the chrome finish reacted to magnet, indicating that it has a thin metal plating on the drain bezel and the stopper. I am skeptical as to how the plastic stopper construction will hold up and whether bathroom cleaners might mar the finish. Another minor gripe is that the stopper-pull sits at an angle that makes it appear bent. (Per the manufacturer reply in the customer Q&A here, it is angled is by design.) The stopper-pull could glide a little more smoothly for my taste but the important thing is that the stopper seals the sink successfully (which it does). So if the Banbury bathroom faucet is a keeper, you might be tempted like I was to assume the same is true of the rest of this collection. I found out after my local water company did work on the water lines in my neighborhood, sending debris down the line that "killed" my aging shower/tub mixer. Given that I now had an excuse to "upgrade" the rest of my bathroom, I headed to my nearest Home Depot store to track down the matching Banbury tub/shower trim kit consisting of valve, wall plate, tub spout, shower head and the optional Banbury hand shower (almost all of which was in stock at my local Home Depot). Based on my strong impression of the faucet, I had no doubt that I would take to the balance of the collection. Unfortunately, my assumption proved wrong. The problem is, I saw the Moen Banbury bath/shower trim kit on a display at Home Depot at a level that was too high off the floor to appreciate that what I was looking at was largely plastic. Despite that the fact that Moen's Mediterranean Bronze finish is the most costly of the bunch, it turns out even the spout for the tub in this collection is plastic as is the wall plate for the single-handle shower handle. Needless to say, this is what I was expecting for a trim-kit price that exceeds some of the competing brands all-metal equivalents. The real deal-breaker, however, occurred when the included Moen valve performed poorly upon first use (shower went stone cold before I could lather up!). Simultaneously, the diverter for the spout failed causing water to flow from the tub spout and shower head simultaneously. Having already paid a contractor to install the matching pieces in this set, I was forced to start over with a plumber to pull the flimsy trim kit so I could return it to Home Depot. In the end, I was forced to pony up for double installation fees to swap out my defective Banbury trim kit for another make. (This time I did my homework, which led me to a tip I can pass on: If you're in the midst of a bathroom refresh/remodel and are operating under the impression that bath/shower trim is constructed of traditional material such as brass, check with the manufacturer first because there are several brands that have shifted to plastic for what others are still charging for metal.) In my case, hindsight is 20/20. Had I cracked open the Moen box before my contractor arrived to install it, I would have spared myself a costly new homeowner mistake.

I thought this was going to be a breeze to install... for the most part it was until it was time to install the drain pop-up. Installing in an older sink, the center hole was small and the drain pop-up rod was not even close to lining up.. Do you know how much of a PITA it is to put a hole in porcelain? After purchasing a $16 diamond bit to drill a hole, and 20-30 minutes to drill it, I was able to complete the installation pretty easily. Your installation experience may be easier depending on your sink. As mentioned in other reviews the pop-up rod is a little awkward, but it works.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice faucet but now have an odor from the water I’ve installed two of these in a full and half bath. When turning the water on after a period of non use, like overnight, I get a nasty smell. I replaced the water feed lines in the half bath but the full bath has the original lines so it’s not the water lines. I did not have this issue with the old faucets and do not have the odor in the kitchen or shower. I’m on well water and have had it tested with no issues found.

It was packaged really good, so that there was no chance for it to have any damage to the chrome finish. Most importantly, the faucet was easy to install, and using the supplied instructions made it super easy. This was great for me, since I am not a "DIY" kind of guy. After it was installed, it looked so great and operates perfectly. I highly recommend this faucet!

I had to use plumbers putty on the bottom of the gasket since this was being installed on an older bathroom sink where it was not sitting flush at the front edge of the sink. Also had to bend the rod some more to work with the older bathroom sink so the the pop up stopper worked.

The only thing I don't like is the rod on the back of the faucet that opens an closes the sink drain. It has a rather drastic bend to it that makes it pull up at almost a 45 degree angle.

The facet moves from side to side and can be unscrewed for easy cleaning. The new faucet included a drain kit where you are able to lift with the regular plunger or lift out to clean.
