Our faucet is over a year old. Is there a way to get parts because it's now dripping. I think someone has been tightening it too tight.

To fix the dripping you will need to replace the 1224B cartridges. Can this be installed WITHOUT the base plate?
I don't think so, if you mean the chrome base. You'd have to undo the under nut & hope it matches your holes on your sink. I think you can buy other kits that are sold as separate pieces.
