Hello Doug and thank you for your interest in Moen products. The Moen Brantford 1-Handle Posi-Temp Shower Only Trim Kit in Oil Rubbed Bronze (Valve Not Included) will fit an existing Posi Temp valve. The Posi Temp valve handle operates by rotating the handle counter clockwise to turn on the water. If your handle operates by pulling out to turn on the water this trim will not fit, you will need a Moentrol trim kit. If you have additional questions, please feel free to call us at 800-289-6636. You might have to pull apart the on and off handle from the valve to see if you have an obstruction or you need to repair or replace it

This set does not control volume of water, only temperature. It is a completely different valve system to control pressure, and you'll have to have your current valve replaced, a new valve one fit to your pipes that is compatible with a faucet system that has separate controls for pressure and temperature, and buy a different faucet trim kit (not Brantford line) that fits the new valve and allows for both pressure and temperature control. Based on what I know about the cost of these things, this change would carry a hefty price tag! Good luck!
