A:  Make sure the rubber sleeve has not dislodged or turned on the stem. Use approve lubrication when installing.

Typically, when you are unable to install the cartridge retainer clip, it can mean that either the cartridge is not fully seated in the valve body or the tabs on the cartridge are not lined up so that the retainer clip can slide around them. The tabs of the cartridge should be at 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock. You can take the twisting tool that came with your new cartridge to push the cartridge in or rotate if needed. If the hole at the top of your retainer clip broke off, you can get a small pair of needle nose pliers and go in from the front and grab one of the legs and push up until you can get a small flat screwdriver under the clip to lift up and out.
