Does the single handle control both the temperature and the water flow?

The Moen L2353 Chateau Posi-Temp Single-Handle 1-Spray Tub and Shower Faucet with Valve in Chrome (Valve Included) will only control temperature. If you want to control temperature and pressure you need a Moentrol valve and trim. If you have additional questions, please feel free to call us at 800-289-6636. I am doing repiping and replacing copper pipe with pex pipe. Will the valve that comes with it work with pex pipe?
Asked by Nsbtif June 5, 2018Moen does make the valve with PEX connection, but the valve included in this kit does not have pex connection. You will have to sweat on pex adapters to use included valve. Moen 2580 Posi-Temp valve is the valve with pex connection. You can buy this valve, then purchase trim kit without valve. TL183 is Moen Chateau Tub/Shower trim kit. However, I don't think Home Depot sells this.
You can use this valve as a shower only by simply blocking the tub supply, right?
