how do I know if I have a slip fit tub spout or a twist/turn off tub spout

Does the brushed nickel version have the Moen "spot resist" finish?

The Moen Diverter Tub Spout with Slip Fit Connection in Brushed Nickel is not a spot resist stainless finish. We suggest a periodic application of quality non-abrasive wax, such as car wax or furniture wax to protect the finish and resist fingerprints. We have our 3853SRN tub spout that is a slip fit connection and has a spot resist stainless finish. If you have additional questions, please feel free to call us at 800-289-6636. My lookout from the wall measures 3.75 inches. Can this product accomodate this length?
