A:  I have had 4 of these installed in remodeling jobs. They are mounted on a 2x4 inside the wall. If they are not installed correctly, the handle will stick out from the flange on the wall. All 4 of mine stick out different dimensions because the distance from the 2x4 to the face of the wall was different in each installation.
