Questions & Answers

do these bars have to mount on a stud or can you go thru the dry wall with toggle bolts?

Asked by: Bill
It is highly recommended to attached to a stud. If you can't, they have special brackets. I wouldn't use toggle bolts

are the screws for this grab bar concealed?

are the screws for this grab bar concealed?
Asked by: me
Yes, I did butI used longer screws since I had tile over mortar and wire mesh. I wanted the screws to go into blocking underneath. I told the contractor where I wanted the grab bars ( I had three installed of different lengths). Made sure there was blocking where the screws would go in. Solid as a rock so I have no fear of them moving. The grab bars that stick to the tiles really worry me. The tile glue was not meant to take a horizontal force.

Can this grab bar also be used as a towel bar?

Asked by: Altadena
Absolutely, it was the only way I could convince my wife to have the number of grab bars I wanted if they doubled as a towel bar.
