Q:Why so few grab bars that will actually fit onto standard 16" on center stud spacing? This style has 16" and 48"grab bars. Few 30" (32" at mount plates) grab bars. Use special mounting plates in a closed cell foam wall, ie not hollow behind sheetrock?

A: I have the oil rubbed sink faucet and the bronze safety bar in the shower. They are very close in color with the biggest difference being that the bronze finish lacks the lighter copper toned highlights and some of the finer details in the shape. If they aren’t side by side no one would notice they aren’t and exact match.

Concealed Screw Grab Bar with SecureMount and Curl Grip in Old World Bronze will coordinate with the Moen Oil Rubbed Bronze finish, however, the OWB and ORB are not an exact match and show noticeable differences in the finish hue and tone. Poor Quality Chrome Finish

There is a quality control issue with this Home Care Designer Ultima grab bar model in the 24” Chrome finish. The 18” size of this grab bar is shiny chrome, but in the 24” size, the finish DOES NOT MATCH. It looks like polished stainless steel. There are milling lines on the bar, the end flanges are less shiny, and on the inside, the finger grips are completely devoid of Chrome plating and show a black coloration. We tried purchasing FOUR of these from different vendors without success.

Stylish design with secure grip

I bought this bar to be used in a vertical placement for step-in support in my guest bath. It's a perfect match for existing horizontal grab bar. The design is more stylish than the standard grab bar. I like that the inside is ridged with a little more pebbly finish that provides a better grip.

The grab bar is of excellent quality, however, as with any grab bar, accurately locating studs behind tiled walls is difficult. Moen SecureMounts made the installation much easier and allowed for more flexibility on where the bar could be located. The installed unit has been in use for one month and is now providing a safe means to get up and stand in the tub/shower especially for anyone who has impaired mobility. This grab bar totally meets my expectations. Based on my experience with this product, my intent is, in future, to install other Moen grab bars to provide safe entry and exit from the tub.

I was looking for a solid, functional grab bar, but my wife insisted it not be the traditional brushed stainless steel type. This was a great solution. The finger grooves on the back of the bar make it grippable for me and the styling makes her happy. A caution - if you are looking for different lengths with the "curl grip" feature, you can search on " grab bars curl grip", but that may not show you all the alternatives. Try "Moen 18 in grab bar". Then look at the images and read the descriptions carefully, sometimes the phrase curl grip is only in the details. This is true for both the Home Depot and Moen sites.

Solid, strong and stylish. Finger groves on the backside of the bar provide the extra "gripability" that I need, but avoids the brushed stainless steel, institutional look that my wife would not accept in her new bathroom. I put 6 others of various lengths in two bathrooms. One caution, it often takes a bit of digging on this web site to find all the different lengths of MOEN Ultima available (12, 18, 24, 42, 48 inch), often you have to hunt by desired length, then MOEN - or by "Ultima" or "Curl grip". MOEN's website is no better.

So far, very satisfied with our purchase. We also ordered an 18" and an 32" to mount at an angle in the shower. The grips are real nice too, just like a car steering wheel. The 1 1/4 " dia. also fits women's hands easier than an 1 1/2 " which we had previous to remodel. Also received in 2 days regular shipping., HD also beat our plumbing suppliers price by $5.00 and was delivered to door. We used all Moen Kingsley product for bathroom. Sink and shower faucet, toilet paper holder, 18" towel rack, and even toilet handle. Nice products.
