    yes, don't forget the installation tool for the plastic ring. May as well replace valve while it's apart.

    my tub faucett is too short and the water runs into the overflow drain. I'm looking for an in the wall extension. Will this work?

    Judging by your description of the problem, it sounds like the tub spout is too short. I would remove the existing one, measure the dimensions ( length, pipe size, etc. ) and try to find one a little longer. See the plumbing pro at your local Home Depot for assistance.

    The product came with no instructions, and it was not at all obvious how to install it. I ended up just throwing it out. I solved my problem by simply installing two washers inside the handle so that it properly engaged with the old stem.
