Posi-Temp 1 in. Handle Tub/Shower Extension Kit in Chrome

A:  I'm not from Missouri except in the case of this advice from Moen. I purchased the kit and would like the handle to be closer to the wall, so 1/2" would be great. I don't see how cutting the stop tube (the metal part) is going to help at all. The key stop (plastic) is the part that makes the handle come out the farthest. The key stop has fancy cuts on the inner end. Can you cut it to be shorter?

You can cut the stop tube down to size. We do not manufacture a shorter extension kit. If the screw holes are located at 5 & 7 on your escutcheon plate you will need kit 10399; if the screws are at 2 & 7 use kit 137347.
