The Moen GX Pro Series 1/2 HP Continuous Feed Garbage Disposal does not require an allen wrench to unjam the unit; it is done from above the sink. With the unit off, insert a wooden spoon into the disposal and rotate the turntable in either direction a full revolution to dislodge any object. We just installed a deep sink in kitchen and the drain from the disposal is lower than the wall outlet. What are options

The drain into the wall must be below that of the disposal and sink or there may be standing water in the disposal. Your options are to raise or change the sink with a shallow drain for the disposal or lower the drain at the wall. If you have additional questions, please feel free to call us at 800-289-6636. Asked by Mon August 5, 2019My thinking is that if it's humming then it's got some sort of blockage. The other respondent was correct. Turn off the switch and try and turn the blades. I'm not sure if this one has the ability to let you use the tool at the bottom of the unit to turn the unit or not. Some do. You use an Allen wrench. You should look at the very bottom of the unit and see if there is a place to use an Allen wrench. If so, that easier than using a screwdriver.
