AnswersHi Anne, Yes both doors are operable. The secondary panel secures to the top and bottom frame with flush bolt locks. Once the main active panel is opened, the locks can be disengaged allowing it to operate. The result is a full opening with no post in the middle. Thank you.

Warning: The grilles are a completely different color than the door

The product pictures are completely misleading. The door is a cream color - very far from white. That might be fine except it is a huge contrast from the grilles and seals, which are actually white. Please look at these pictures before ordering unless you like the look of a cream door contrasted against bright white grilles. Why they didn't match the grilles to the door color is beyond me. I contacted MP Doors and showed them these pictures and they claim that that is just how their doors are. I thought for sure I got a defective unit. This door will probably be going back.
Also, be warned that shipping took longer than the "Get it by" date listed on their website with absolutely 0 visibility until the last day. It took a full month to deliver and every day, Home Depot website said it would be delivered the following day. I even tried calling but nobody could tell me when it would arrive, except to call back if I didn't hear anything after another week. This makes scheduling an installer basically impossible. You might have better luck shipping to the store, but only if you have a way to move a 250 pound pallet from the store to your house. I did not.

The difference between what I had and now is night and day. The new doors feel so much more secure and solid and they are literally air tight and SO quiet.
