Won't power up
i purchased the DIY 18K and installed it over 2 days. I followed the instructions and i thought all was going well. 2 30A breakers confirmed 120vac at the panel, wired up 30A Disconnect w/ 30A fuses confirmed 120vac on both load lines, load lines 1

We bought the 24k btu 4th gen. Unit. We normally don't set it below 79. It cools very well. We have a 2 br 1 bath home. My husband and son installed it pretty quickly. We recommend it.

Easy install
Installed this unit to cool my garage workshop. Took my time, followed instructions and the install was not bad at all. Now with temp 95 outside, my workshop is a cool 76 degrees.

Very energy efficient. Whisper quiet. I installed it in my garage/shop and the DIY lines were easy to work with. The android phone app will not connect, but the iOS app on my iPad did, which is really the easiest way to work with the system, much easier than the wall mounted thermostat or the wall mounted remote control. The unit does a good job of cooling 500 sf, 10' tall well insulated garage. If my garage was less insulated or if it was larger (third stall) I would consider the 18,000 BTU model. I would recommend it to a friend and purchase it again.

The best upgrade for my home
I purchased the Mr. Cool 12,000 BTU system after extensive research on home HVAC setups. I have a loft space that is open to my living room, and the central HVAC has difficulty keeping it at a consistent temperature compared to the rest of the home. It performs better than advertised, and was relatively easy to install. Follow the instructions, and watch the videos. Helpful tip: choose which method you want to use to control the unit, they do not work together.

The AC unit does not keep cool, over time it stops cooling.
This is my second purchase I returned the first order because it wasn't working well. Also their warranty service is terrible, they would run me around in circles avoiding replacing anything.
Not sure if this company has any properly working units it sells. If I did it all over again, I'd buy a different brand like pioneer, one that is pre charged, youtube has many videos that teach you how to vacuum a unit to get it started.

If you have any mechanical bones in your body you can install this unit without help from HVAC technician, however I would recommend getting a qualified electrician to wire to power source.
Unit is very quiet and cools and heats great!!

Good DIY product!
Tips: for outdoor line covering, buy 4" wide. I bought the 3" and had a difficult time to squeeze them into that. And insulation spray foam for the wall sleeve. The pre-charged line set is quite pricey but eleminates the need for HVAC guys.
