DIY Gen-3 23,000 BTU 20 SEER ENERGY STAR Ductless Mini Split Air Conditioner & Heat Pump w/ 25 ft. Install Kit 230-Volt

I got 3 different estimates from air-condition companies and decided I wasn't going to spend almost $10,000 to cool my 3 car garage. I then did tons of research on different ways to cool it. After deciding on a mini split, i did even more research on Mr Cool units. In short, after the first month of use after I installed this untit completely by myself, I have already recommended it to all my neighbors. I live in Phoenix AZ, July was consistently over 110 degrees 24/7 and my garage was held consistently at 73 degrees. 3 insulated walls no insulated ceiling or garage doors. I had it completely installed on one saturday. No special tools needed. YouTube walked me thru the entire process. I did decide to go 200v for better efficiency. This thing WORKS!!!

I've bought 3 of these units. 3 years in one of their quick connects started leaking and now the unit is non-functional. I've called them 20+ times. They make you wait on hold TO LEAVE A VOICEMAIL. I've emailed them multiple times, no one responds. They are clearly a company who doesn't care about standing behind their products.

My Mr cool cools my whole single wide mobile home and is very quiet. Now the problems.The wheel get dirty and the whole thing will clog up to the point it stops blowing air. You have to completely take off the entire front of the cooler to gain very minimal access. Then you have to take a brush to the wheel while trying to suck up the dust? It is really hard to do. I have broken the hinge on the right side because the plastic is cheap.

Replaced an older generation Mr. C heat pump with this unit.There are differences between the units but, luckily, I could use the same hole I had put through my brick wall, so it saved this 67 year old grandma a little time while installing it. I installed myself. Works great. 100 degree day, my small 3 bedroom home was an easy 72. Humidity is running about 35-40%. It has a wall thermostat, remote, and works with Alexa & Google.

I would have given this a 5 star for the unit itself but support was questionable when I called to clarify a few things after install. Unit works well and installed as seen on TV or Youtube. My situation took a little longer because I had to run electric. setup the pad for the compressor and open up part of the wall where the inside mounting plate attaches due to numerous pipes behind the wall. Thats was my challenge to the install but absent those issues, it is an easy task. I called to clarify some details after startup about the remote, wall control and Mr Cool app in how they work together. I got an answering machine and left my info. As of 2 weeks later no call. They push it off on getting info off the website or other sources but no live help. Kind of turned me off so hence minus 1 star. Overall a good unit, and would recommend. Time will tell on its lasting quality as I just installed 3 weeks ago.

Easy installation with 50 ft of line set. Great instructions and quality parts. Unit so smooth and quiet. Couldn’t be happier with this product. Ordered from Home Depot and ready for pickup at store within days at a great price. Saved a lot of money and feel I have a better installation than I could have paid others to do. If your a handy person you can DIY. No problem!

You read everywhere they are made in Kentucky. That is one of the reasons I purchased this brand. Once installed the tag clearly states, MADE IN CHINA

Just installed this unit and it works great! I have a 1200 SF house (one level) and it heats or cools the whole place.

I purchase the 24k Mr Cool DYI 20 seer on Jun 26/2020 and was installed by Mid July, this are my comments on my experience as far as today 3/29/2021: 1.heating: my space is 1,150 SF and this unit is heating the area quick and without problems at all, i keep temperature in 68* and has been great, with temperatures bellow 20* still heat efficiently.......2. App integration: the app works just great, i download it on my phone also my wife and son, we all are fully capable to control the unit without connectivity problems or command problems, works great and have nice features, they receltly updated the app and is really nice........3. Installation: the unit was installed by myself and i can say is very easy to do but still need some basic knowlage.....4. Noise: super super quiet indoor air handler and outdoor condenser......5.power consumtion: i cant be more happy after been able to use this unit together with other two (9k 22.5 seer each for bedrooms) almost all night and day on heating mode and just have a diference of about $30 to $50 dollars on my montly electric bill and not been dependable on expensive oil to heat my home, heat expense montly is around $300 versus $30 to $50 on this electric heat pumps (using three units) so you can see a big diference there.......6. Working under extreme conditions: im located on Long island NY and this winter we had a lot of snow and i was very please to see that outdoor condenser working just great almost full cover of snow........ill be updating this review after this summer 2021 to provide a fair comment about cooling mode and hope to have great news on that as well..............im happy so far with what i see but anyways im causious and i want to provide a fair comment base on a real performance over the time and not on first sight emotions so you can dedide better on buying and judge if its woth it or not the investment on this mr cool units...........good luck

Easy install, definitely a DIY with an extra hand and the right tools. Cools down our living room with sky lights on the hottest days easily and cools down the first floor pretty well too.
