20 October 2018. Just finished a Saturday removing 10 year old white paint from 10 red brick pillars on my patio. Multi-Strip applied thickly and allowed to set for 30 minutes removed 60% of the paint using a garden hose. A second application, also setting for 30 minutes, removed all but 10% remaining using a pressure hose. The last 10% was removed with one more coating and the pressure hose. I did use a wire brush before hosing to turn it into a paste. An occasional hard bit of paint I scraped with putty knife. Hose everything 100 % with garden hose and it looks perfect. Multi-Strip definitely works. Entire job took 6 hours (that includes the wait time and cleanup/final hosing to make sure no residue was on brick or patio ground pavers.

Is this a good product for stripping furniture? Have a Maple drop leaf table from the 40's I would like to refinish.

Asked by: Peggy
I used this to strip 5 layers of both oil and latex paint from a 15-pane french door, as well as door framing and window casing that had some detail in the molding. The coverage rating on the bucket is accurate when used as directed. I realize this is years later, but for others who may read this - the person who said this would probably be hard to use on furniture legs is absolutely wrong. Applying it is dead easy with a brush. The most challenging aspect of using this - or any thick-coating stripper - is removing the excess after it's done working, and even that's really only challenging if you're working in detail/relief areas. I had to really scrape with a plastic spatula, followed by a few passes of sanding, which you should expect to do anyhow as most of these products will raise the wood's grain. I would absolutely recommend for smooth surfaces even if they have some detail. Smells like fermenting thawed frozen bananas - you need to wear a respirator with filters that are rated for organic vapors/gasses.
