A: The power cord for this freezer is equipped with a three-prong plug which mates with standard three prong wall outlets to minimize the possibility of electrical shock. This freezer requires a standard 115/120 Volt A.C. ~/60Hz electrical outlet with three-prong ground. This freezer is not designed to be used with an inverter.

A: Your freezer should be conveniently located in a dry, well ventilated room away from direct sunlight and sources of heat (stove, heater, radiator etc.) Direct sunlight may affect acrylic coating and heat sources may increase electrical consumption. Do not install the freezer where the temperature will go below 32 degree F or above 110 degree F. Temperatures outside of this range may affect the performance and longevity of the unit

Great Purchase to Replace Old Chest Freezer

My old 3.1 cu ft chest freezer up and died suddenly so I had to replace it quickly. It was always crammed with foods I wanted to get a bigger one but I had a limited footprint. I found this Magic Chef 5.0 cu ft freezer at the local HD and it fit the bill perfectly: it was a little wider than my previous freezer (about 5 inches) but the other dimensions were the same, and with that extra width I got almost double the storage. It is extremely quiet and keeps its cold really well; I have seen almost no frost, unlike my previous freezer. It has two hanging baskets with are large enough to be of real use, and it has a removable divider with allows a second side compartment to be formed; this is where I put items I want to get at quickly, as well as jars for homemade soups and stocks. The LED light in the lid was a bonus that I did not expect: it makes freezer searches much easier in the low light area it is located in. The extra storage space makes allows me to keep only the items I need regularly in the freezer in my kitchen. So far I love this freezer and highly recommend it.

Mighty freezer

Unboxed at home. Washed exterior with warm water wash cloth. No dents, scratches. Came with 2 baskets. Love the side racks inside attached to the shelf. Holds things in place. The led light on door helps to view inside. The green light indicator doesn't stay on to show freezer in constant freeze mode like other freezers. so that's a flaw. But overall good freezer, perfect size. Holds quarter cow meats. Paid $236. Including tax.

The smell was so bad my family got sick.

We purchased for in the house, not the garage. The smell was so bad my family got sick from the toxic fumes. After looking more online I found so many reviews bring up this problem across the web for this freezer. Why put profits over people? My GE freezer doesn't smell like this.
