Worst saw ever!
I am a finish carpenter. I bought this saw because I use a 12” Makita and it is great. As soon as I took this one out of the box I noticed the miter gauge sticker is way off. The only correct detention is 0. After that I decided to start it up to see how it cut. The blade wobble is absolutely horrid!! I didn’t even try to make a cut. I NEED accuracy and this saw does not “cut” it. I’m returning it and getting a different brand saw. Shame on Makita that this made it through quality control!!

I am completely dumbfounded by this product. First, it was out of square on both axis as has been mentioned in other reviews, but that was easy to fix. Then I tried cutting a board. It was horrible. It as much chewed the wood as cut it. Chip out top and bottom (I adjusted the kerf) and a very rough cut even with a 90 tooth brand new blade. I called Makita technical support and was told that to make the saw so small and light weight they had to use bearings that were not as good so rough cuts are normal. I told the guy I didn't believe it, that nobody would sell a saw that bad, but he insisted that was the truth.

The saw has a slide problem. I need help. Does the saw need the slide bearings replaced, or will a lubricant free the bearings. The saw snags and sputters as you pull it along the slides. The other Makita LS saws I own do NOT do that, and glide perfectly.

It felt like when you would slide the saw it was rough kinda like the bearings were going. The Makita rep.said that's how that model worked. I sent it back.

The saw operation is of a good quality for a tool in this price range. Changing the mitre angle is simple. Pre-set stops at 22.5 and 45 are very accurate. One drawback is position of "release" button, which must be pressed along with trigger. At some angles it's awkward getting your wrist in position to do so.
