The Makita 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Sub-Compact Brushless Cordless 2-piece Combo Kit (CX200RB) lets users do more with less, with two ultra-compact cordless solutions for drilling, driving and fastening in a more compact size with significantly less weight. The 18-Volt Sub-Compact Driver-Drill and Impact Driver are a new class of compact, with the size and weight of lower voltage tools but with the performance, power and compatibility of 18-Volt. The expansive breadth-of-line of the Makita 18-Volt LXT Series means an 18-Volt battery from any LXT tool will power the 18-Volt sub-compact driver-drill and impact driver included in the CX200RB. The kit includes an ultra-compact 2-speed brushless driver-drill that weighs only 2.8 lbs., with two speed settings and 350 in. lbs. of max torque. The variable speed brushless impact driver weighs only 2.6 lbs. with two speed settings and 1,240 in. lbs. of max torque. For more efficient fastening, the impact driver features Assist Mode (A-mode) which helps eliminate "screw cam-out" and "cross threading" by driving at low speed until tightening begins. It is part of Makita's expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion series, the world's largest cordless tool line-up powered by 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. Makita 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger.

          LIGHT THE SCREWHEAD, please!
          After all these years Makita STILL hasn't figured out how to have their little led light actually light the friggin' screwhead. It lights the area around the screwhead but NOT the exact area you really need it. Try using it in a dark area. Ackkkk!

            Wanted to like it
            I really had high hopes for this set. I do a variety of work from cabinet installs to light carpentry, I'm a part time professional. I got this set for its lightweight and fantastic ergonomics. On day one the drill chuck locked up and lost a bit, this happened three more times. On day three I was doing some light framing and the housing literally snapped in half on the impact. I may give Makita another shot because of fantastic ergonomics but so far I am unimpressed by quality.

              Great impact driver - not so great drill
              The nice thing about these tools is that they are really lightweight. Put together, they weigh the same amount as my old DeWalt 18-volt drill. The impact driver works great. However, the drill is underpowered. My 16-year-old 18V Dewalt is more powerful than this Makita. My drill also broke while I was drilling a 1/4" hole. The plastic inside the chuck broke. I was disappointed in the quality, so I returned them.

                Great Tool set
                This combo set is great. I use them all the time while I am working on cars. Both of them are strong and powerful and get the job done easy. l have had them for about 2 years now and they are still working amazing. I also like the quike charge battery charger. Gets the batteries from dead to full charge in 25 mins. Overall it is a great product.

                  Im in commercial construction and the makita brand is what i like to use. The drill chuck is a lil wobble and was like that when i recieved it. But the im pact is perfect!!!! Both are light weight and the compact design is great for tight spots. Plenty of power and battery life seems to be pretty good. 1-2 days on one charge. Well thats my review. Peace!+

                  Unbelievable. The power this combination has in such a compact size is simply unbelievable. Had my eye on this combo for a while and had tried it out in the store, but putting it to use in the real world has blown me away. So light, compact, and comfortable in my hand. The recip doesn’t have the full 1-1/2 stroke of the full size, but is longer than the 12 volt mini’s in all the other brands. Roots, demo, trimming-this thing is awesome. The impact driver is a godsend. Overall this is the best $299 I’ve ever spent on tools. Only con is the lack of other tools in this range. I REALLY hope they come out with an oscillating tool. Hopefully this line is just getting started.

                  This is the best purchase I have made. I use both drills everyday for work and have no regrets the size was the big deal maker for me but boy that power. I just replaced a six year old makita that was starting to slow down and I can't believe what a difference that time has made.

                    I may be somewhat biased, as I've been using Makita products for the past 10 years, but I feel like Makita killed it with this drill/driver combo. I did get to play with them a bit at a local Home Depot before buying the kit & I can honestly say these are worth every penny. Although I've been using them for light work, removal of kitchen cabinets, you can feel the extra torque with every push of the trigger. They are smaller and lighter than my previous pair but feel stronger and more comfortable in hand. On top of their overall performance they are the best looking pair Makita has produced bar none.
