A:  The weight balance on this tool is fairly decent. Its heavier on the back end where the trigger is because of the battery. With its "snub nose" design its lighter I think on the nose end while being heavier at the back end of the saw. I use this saw mainly for cutting PVC pipe and general light duty applications, it works great for doing that kind of thing

A:  Thank you for your question. The XRJ07ZB 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Sub-Compact Brushless Cordless Recipro Saw, Tool Only has a max cutting capacity of 10 inches for wood with 12 inch blade. The tool includes 4" 6TPI Wood Cutting Recipro Saw Blade (B-20432-1) and 4" Metal Cutting Recipro Saw Blade, 18TPI (B-20404).

A:  The tool uses standard Sawzall blades. Which come in a large variety of sizes and tooth counts for a variety of materials. I think 2 blades come with the saw. But, they are not as good as you can buy from Freud, De Walt, etc. As far as length goes, you will probably need about 4" of space [under your cut] unless you shorten the blade.

A:  It comes with a blade. The stroke depth and blade depth would make this project past your 3/4”. I suggest you get the oscillating tool instead. More control - the blades actually often have depth marked on them. Best tool for surgical type removal of material.

A:  The Makita oscillating tool TM3010CX1 Multi?Tool Kit is a better choice. Nice and easy to control. A plunge cut with a reciprocating saw would be jumpy and difficult in a small, confined area.

A:  Yes. Use a fresh sharp blade with the proper TPI. When drilling and cutting metal use slower speeds. A drop of oil when cutting metal may help.
