You'll never break, never break, never break, this heart of stone. But if you have this MAKITA 4.5 IN. TURBO RIM DIAMOND BLADE FOR GENERAL PURPOSE cutting stone will be much easier. I put it on an angle grinder, which I think I've heard is the preferred method, and cleaned up a jagged edge on a paver in my yard. Next I tried this blade on a small circular saw and I found it a much more natural and comfortable way to cut. I used it to cut a 12" square paver in half. It almost cut all the way through. A bolder DIYer would have tried to snap it but I turned it over and ran another pass to finish it up. Probably get a much smoother edge that way. It cut easily. Wondering how much wear the stone dust did to my saw but I won't be using it for this everyday. I have a small wet saw for projects where a lot of stone or tile will be cut. But this is nice to knock out small jobs quickly, whereas unboxing and filling the wet saw and the following cleanup can all be avoided, not to mention getting the wetsaw down from the rafters of the garage. This diamond blade can be set-up, make a few cuts, and move on to the next job.Cuts well, won't break the budget, fits on tools I already have. Makita is a name I associate with quality. Very nice to have available in my workshop.

The Makita 4-1/2 in. Turbo Rim General-Purpose Diamond Blade can be used for cutting block, brick and concrete. The Turbo Rim give the material a lot smoother finish than the general segment blades. It cut through the brick with ease and the results was nice and clean cuts. The blade a 5/8” arbor. The Turbo Rim blade can be use wet or dry cuts. Great product!

Well to begin with...it says Makita on it so you know it's quality! This is my second 4.5" diamond blade from Makita, well for my 4.5" angle grinder anyways, have like 4 of them for my smaller Makita angle grinder as well. Anyways...Makita now has a larger thickness on the edge which will aid my greatly in grinding out the old mortar while i continue repointing my exterior bricks. Bought my 4.5" Makita angle grinder specifically to get more material removal at a greater depth. I use the diamond blade as well as the Makita masonry wheels. This diamond blade produces a very fine cut in the bottom and top portion of the individual bricks for better adhesion of the new mortar. Makita has been my go to product line for power tools for many years now, and i expect they will be for more years to come.

I just purchased a Milwaukee battery operated grinder kit (2980-21) and need some diamond blades to grind out the cracked cement joints in between some of the basement blocks and the chimney. I also need to replace and install several block for and old coal bin/door. It can be used wet or dry. I’ll be using it dry with the Milwaukee saw but it’ll also fit my wet tile saw, so I can use it for the kitchen tile job that’s coming next month. When using it dry I make sure I always wear a dust mask. I also wear eye protection. You can also cut brick, roof tiles and pavers if you’re doing any of them. It’s fast cutting which is a time saver for me. It will fit both the 5/8” and 7/8” arbors.
