Yes, the Makita 7-Inch Electronic Sander-Polisher (9217SPC) has a 5/8”-11 arbor and is compatible with the pad.

The backing pad is 7" diameter, but the H & L sanding pads are only 5" dia. Are they compatible or what happens to the exposed area of the backing pad not covered by sand paper? Are 7" sanding pads available?
