Rapid Load Bump & Feed Trimmer Head

I seldom take the time to write reviews. I’m highly critical. Consider this review a public service. It had to be said. • Pay attention to how many reviews on this page are due to admitted customer error, or otherwise not related whatsoever to the performance of this product. They’re dragging the review score down, and that hurts both manufacturer and consumer (who’s looking for good advice, and a good product). • I bought an Echo Speed Feed head for my brand new $400 Makita XUX01ZM5 17” 36V string trimmer, because I’d done hours and hours of research, and in so doing learned that Echo made the best head. I didn’t even want to mess around with this Makita head that came in the box. • However, when I had fitment issues with the Echo on the Makita (arbor size), and my weeds were getting long, I decided to just use this Makita head for the day, and then figure out the adapter for the Echo later on. • Well. • THIS PRODUCT IS AS CLOSE TO PERFECT AS YOU COULD EVER EXPECT. • Using the maximum thickness string (I went with Oregon Magnum Gatorline .105”) as dictated on the Makita packaging, I have had zero jams. Zero issues. I cannot say that about ANY string trimmer that I’ve ever used, including Echo. Highest speed setting (7100rpm), lowest speed setting, grass, THICK weeds. Hours upon hours of abuse. Nothing trips it up. • Never had a string trimmer head feed so reliably, and be SO EASY to load. Cut twelve feet. Feed one end through one of the two holes. Grab it when it pokes out of the opposite hole. Stretch it out until both ends are even (6 feet). Twist the head until it’s all wound up with 8 inches sticking out either side. Easiest ever, seriously. I cannot get it to jam. I am not easy on my landscaping machinery. • Has honestly restored my faith in string trimmers. I hated them all because of the jamming/restringing frustration. I used to pay people hundreds of dollars so that I didn’t have to deal with the frustration. • No longer.

Met All expectations and was easy to install

I asked the associate , in the isle of Gardening if this trimmer head fits all Makita trimmers and he said yes. When I got it home to try it on my trimmer it didn’t fit. Very disappointed that I have to do back and exchange it due to the lack of knowledge of your staff. Try harder guys. The threads are larger on the replacement head.

Easy to assemble. Okay lightweightness. However the guard is much too small . i purchased a larger guard and modified to fit this one. Wanted a makita to go with other makita tools but this was a disappointment.
