Q:What happened to the long planks? The description says the longest are now 4' and the shortest are only 15". We installed previously and they were 6' long, with 2' for the shortest. We're willing to pay more for real long planks.

Q:Can this floor be laid over in-floor heat?
    by|Jan 23, 2024
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  YES: RADIANT HEAT (ENGINEERED HARDWOOD FLOORING): Please follow the guidelines in the Installation Guide attached to each product listing page under "Additional Resources From the Manufacturer". Radiant Heat Systems • The radiant heat system must have been tested and in operation for a few weeks prior to installation. • The radiant heating system needs to be turned off prior to installation and the floor needs to be close to room temperature 65 to 75 degrees. If the radiant heat pipes are visible or exposed in the subfloor, you must cover them with 3/8” plywood to spread heat more evenly. • After the flooring is installed, slowly raise the temperature to the preferred comfort level (over at least a 5 day timeframe) beginning two days after installation or at the onset of colder weather conditions. • The radiant heat system must be controlled and the surface temperature of the flooring must never be allowed to exceed 85°F. • Proper relative humidity must be maintained within your home at all times during the year. For best results and to minimize seasonal gaps keep indoor humidity between 30% to 50% RH. If you are in an arid part of the USA or Canada, it is especially imperative that you use a humidifying system to maintain this moisture in the air. • Forced air heating system also can dry out the air inside your house much more than you might imagine, so use of a Relative Humidity meter(Hygrometer) is recommended to ensure you know when you must use a humidifier to keep the relative humidity above 30%. • Even when these guidelines are followed it is still possible that your flooring may experience some cracks (seasonal checking) on the plank surface and/or gapping between planks due to slight shrinkage, which are not covered by the products limited warranty.

        Color of Maverick absolutely terrible.
Its so frustrating ordering loads of flooring that takes a month to come in, only to have it look nothing like the sample or even like itself for that matter. Something with the manufacturing is messed up because these pieces do not coordinate at all. Look how some are cool gray and some are a warm brown. It looks ridiculous paired together. Do not buy until they fix this problem.

            Get samples - nice floors
Get samples,it has color variation, knots & black lines on some planks. We hid the more odd looking knots in closets or at the edge of the room.Beautiful floor if you take into account it is not top grade wood, nevertheless the grain & the tone variation is nice.We ordered multiple samples of several engineered woods & chose Artesia. Also ordered a full box to finalize my choice. We hired out the installation & the installer had no trouble with the floating floor. Very happy got it Black Friday!

                Quality for Price
On a tight budget, did self install. I had some issues with the floor chipping and one cracked piece of plank. The planks glide in, don't snap like higher quality planking.

                  Quality for pricing
Purchased this flooring on a tight budget, during installation noticed the planks don't really snap in like higher quality but just glide together. It was a self install job but had issues with chipping of the planks.

                    Beautiful
Just install some of this flooring, so far looks nice, lots of variation, but has a lot of black knots they might not be attractive to all. Material can be better it is cardboard core so not sure how I will hold up.
