Is this flooring water resistant and pet friendly? Thinking of installing it in a kitchen and we have a 60# dog.

Answerif you review the definition of water resistant, "able to resist the penetration of water to some degree but not entirely", then yes this floor can withstand household spills that are cleaned/dried up after they occur. All hard surface flooring may scratch to some degree, depending on the type of stress its exposed to. With all pets suggest trimming nails in attempt to minimize any surface scratching the dog may create with sharp nails. This floor is extremely durable and a great investment to increase the asset value of your home vs other plastic flooring alternatives. The Malibu Wide Plank Maple Species does have a lighter wire brushed surface texture then other species, it may appear a little smoother when compared to the French Oak or Hickory Species that are also wire brushed.

Maple Manhattan engineered flooring review
The floor looks great and is relatively easy to install. When we first received it and had not yet installed, I thought it had a pinkish tone at certain times of day. Once it was installed, this is not true. I absolutely love it and am thrilled with the selection.

Ordered numerous Malibu Wide Plank Samples along with some other supplier samples, the surface texture on this Malibu Wide Plank Maple Manhattan is absolutely stunning, a nice low gloss with a very subtle wirebrush, good character in this maple veneer. A nice natural, with a hint of white wash, so many other colors to choose from, this will be a tough decision.
