Hi Dick; To answer your question correctly some clarification is needed. You asked if the glass was Opaque, the correct meaning of that word is that light has no possibility to pass through and object. there is such a thing as opaque glass but if you hold it up to the sun it will not allow the light to be seen. I think the word you are looking for is "Obscure" glass which allows light in but any object/s on either side of door are hard to discern. In the description it states that it is clear glass on the door, so your best way to get frosted or other styles of obscure glass is to call the order in and ask the rep for what styles of obscure glass could be special ordered. when you order online with home depot you only get what is described. any changes have to be submitted by phone or going to your local HD store. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good for the first couple years... This door was exactly what I was looking for, and at a good price. In my case the door faces west, so it gets the hot afternoon sun. After the second summer, it started to warp - i'm guessing that it was because of a dark color and much higher temp on the outside than on the inside. Not a lot of warp, but enough so that it doesn't close against the weatherstrip at the top and bottom. This past week, it developed a thermal separation in the glass: not an actual crack in the glass, but a minuscule separation between the two panes, allowing moisture in and the window to fog. Fixing this is impossible, so the glass must be replaced. The price for replacement glass is likely more than the price for a new door. It has a warranty against this for 5 years, and I've had the door for about 5 and one-half years. All of a sudden, this door isn't such a good deal after all.

I love the amount of light that this full pane of glass lets in and it gives my home a nice, subtle modern feel. Great quality for the price. Many compliments! Don't hesitate to purchase it if it catches your eye, it's quality aesthetically and mechanically. I paired mine with "Hawthorne Satin Nickel Single Cylinder Handleset w/Cameron Knob feat SmartKey Model # 800HEXCN 15 SMT CP" Perfect addition to a great door!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poorly designed door. I purchased 2 of these doors for my deck area. Within 3 months both door... Poorly designed door. I purchased 2 of these doors for my deck area. Within 3 months both doors leaked at the bottom of the glass inside onto the carpet and wood flooring when the rain would hit them. Customer service was less than service oriented, quite the struggle to get a warranty repair person to fix them. A bigger issues is the brick mold being made from cheap 'Finger Joint' material in which failed and allowed moisture to get in at the bottom hing side and completely rot out the the bottom of the door frame. Major repairs less than 2 years after being hung. Looks great, but this door is a crap shoot relative to it's integrity. Can not recommend this door beyond it's looks.

It installed fairly easily and came with complete instructions. I am very happy with it. I was not happy with the delivery, however. I paid $99 to have it delivered to my address. I live in an apartment two flights up from the street and had planned to tip the delivery people to carry it up the stairs to my back door where it was to be installed. Despite my 72 yr. of age and my asking politely, the delivery service [contracted by Home Depot] refused and left it in the driveway at street level. Sweet!!!
