Good quality door!
Bought this door for my fiance's house and it is gorgeous. He absolutely loves it! It's a good solid door and the decorative window at the top adds the perfect touch.

Nightmare painting the door. I used a mid-grade all in one paint. So far I've done 4 light coats ...
Nightmare painting the door. I used a mid-grade all in one paint. So far I've done 4 light coats and looks like it needs a 5th. There were spots on the door that wouldn't take the 1st couple of coats at all, as if it hadn't been primed or something. Will apply a 5th coat tomorrow and hopefully be done with it. FYI paint color is a medium blue. I've painted many exterior doors over the years but this one has given me the most problems.

A common mistake that we see is when steel doors are not sanded before painting which will allow the paint to be removed easily. Sanding along with following our finishing instructions will give the best possible finish for exterior doors. It's an ok door. You will need jamb extensions for a 2x6 wall. And although the finish is supposed to be rated for something like a year, it's really just a primer. Some of the newer in-stock doors are coming pre-finished (already painted white) while this one is not.

Thank you for the 4 stars, HomerHasNothingOnME. All doors online and most in stock will be made for a more common wall size of 2x4, however, a jamb can be special ordered for a 2x6 wall in store. All of our doors that are considered "primed" will need to be painted on all six sides to maintain warranty whereas a prefinished door will indeed be ready for installation without finishing. Consider Another Manufacturer
Maybe consider other options. I had a difficult time installing this door thinking i wasn't shimming correctly. Only to find out the top and bottom hinges were crooked. All the screws on the door side are crooked. The deadbolt enforcement was also installed cocked. Fun all around!
