Q:Can you be specific on what sweep to order for the bottom of the door? I think I would have better luck with a suggestion from Masonite Doors than the guy at Home Depot.

Door dimensions not as advertised.
The 36 × 80 inch door actually measured 35 1/4 × 79. Fitting was difficult because the door it replaced was 36×79.5. Plus the mounting holes for the knob and deadbolt were not aligned with the old door. I assumed these were all a standard size as well as location for knobs. My mistake.

It is an industry standard for components like door slabs, wood bucks, etc. to not be what is called the "call” or nominal” size. These terms are used in the industry that are rounded measurements to the closest actual size. The standard size that we offer for any exterior steel door unit that we provide from our company which will be 31.5" x 79". Great door; downside you do have to cut for the hinges. I cut it the thickness of the door and it worked out perfectly. Also wished they had an option without the deadbolt. This was an entry door from the garage into the mud room, therefore didn’t really need the deadbolt…

The door was 1/4” too narrow for the existing door frame for my house. my dad had to add that much wood to the frame to make the deadbolt be able to catch, so that I could safely lock my door and not have the sunshine and the breeze blowing through the crack. Why on earth didn’t someone at the factory check to make sure the door was the correct standard width before they shipped it to the store?

It said you had 7 on hand and there was only 1. I worked at Home Depot and I was a tool vendor. I believe that the associate just didn’t want to take the time to drop a skid of doors. That’s $200 you guys lost out on.
