What is the cure time for this sealant? Is it safe to apply in winter when the heat is running? Need heat and to use it!

When I swapped out my basement drop ceiling for drywall, I had to fabricate an extension for the ceiling vent. I used ta healthy dollop of this sealant as part of my fabricated solution to the extension. That dollop was cured after a full day. I did not apply it during heating season, but I imagine that it would be fine.

Is this a clear finish? if not what color does it dry to

It dried to an off white, gray color. If I had to nail down one color from the crayon box, I'd say light gray.

I used it on a clothes dryer offset exhaust vent from the dryer to the wall outlet. It comes out a little watery but quickly firms up and makes a good seal.

I used this to seal a cover/repair for the main trunk of my HVAC. I did not need a lot, so the $4 tube worked perfect over the $20+ tub. From other reviews, my tube was NOT dry and came out a bit runnier than caulk. I kept that in mind during the application. I was taking a square piece of metal to cover a round hole, so I was able to apply this with the caulk gun, put the metal patch in place, then zip screwed the patch to the trunk.
