It works OK for about one season but the control module is complete garbage I ended up deleting the controller and wiring in a manual switch

                Outstanding Value!!!
First up, an Evaporative Cooler works best in Dry areas like the SW States. It's useless in Humid areas on East Coast. Living in North LA County, we get summer temps in the 100s and hit 110 on a regular basis; thus running our AC in the summer 24/7, resulting in a $400+ a month Electric Bill! This summer we bought this MasterCool and we ran it 24/7 and we NEVER had to use our AC! Even when over 110, it was under 75 inside our home! AND our Electric Bill never went above $100 per month!

                  It does the job
I have a 1600 square-foot one-story house this unit does the job, if it is 100° outside and around 20% humidity the house will run 78 and about 60% humidity I don’t use the high speed because it is very loud unless it’s over 110 outside and then the house will get up into the 80s, over that I turn on the AC and put the cover on this unit, I have had the square metal units in the past but they always rust out in a couple of years and have a lot of maintenance this one I Had for three years, the only recommendation I have is by the brass water valve because the plastic one is junk and doesn’t shut off And use some kind of filter media on the outside of the unit as you can see in the photo I use the blue cooler pad because The media they use although it works great has large holes and will suck in flies mosquitoes and a lot of dirt, one other thing I opted to put in a purge pump instead of the drip line then I just ran a soaker hose out to my garden so the water wouldn’t be wasted. I use three up duck vent to blow the air up through my attic and if the fan is on high I still need to open some windows, read the instructions on airflow it’s very important to keep your humidity down 60% and under is good

Pretty easy to put together and get running. Very loud when on hi but we use it as a secondary system to keep our down stairs cooled better. Get the optional cover because you can’t leave it off otherwise it is just a hole that all the air gets sucked through

                    company doesn't warranty defective components
this unit is pretty expensive and it does cool nicely but it is mostly plastichere in Colorado it is only used several months out of the yearand after just a couple of cooling seasons the fan blade started rubbing on the housing all the way aroundit was clearly a manufacturer's defect but the company wouldn't replace it under warrantywhich technically it wasn't under warrantybut this was clearly a manufacturer's defect it's only used a few hours a day and just on hot days

The Mastercool 3200 was easy to install and works much better than the metal one I had in the same window and works so well that my girlfriend wanted me To turn it off because she was getting cold! If you have an old metal one replace it with this one and you won’t be sorry and its so quiet you hardly know its on.

Works well . . . when it works PROS: The rigid media used in this cooler is far superior to the aspen pads used in many other coolers. They provide a consistent performance and are easier to maintain. I have a Mastercool whole house unit on my house in Las Vegas and only use my AC when humidity gets too high (a couple weeks a year). The all plastic case is also a nice feature, as metal cabinets will invariably rust/corrode. The unit produces a temperature drop of 20-25 degrees in my conditions (5-20% humidity) Remote control for on/off, fan speed (not thermostatic) CONS: This cooler has a couple design flaws and has been fraught with problems since day one: Rather than a purge cycle, the pump continuously drains a portion of it’s flow. Considering Evaporative coolers work best in hot, dry climates, where water waste is not an option.(a separate purge pump can be perchased and operated on a programmable frequency $50) There is no way to direct the airflow from the cooler (grille is fixed) The lower screws that attach the filter assembly/cover to the unit allow water to constantly drip. Maybe a simple sealing job, but I’ve had to remove the cover so many times I haven’t wanted to use silicone (yet) The water level float valve was not “plug and play,” requiring several adjustments to get the shut off to occur at the correct level. The water depth needs to be precise as the operating level between pump starvation and overflow is slight. The valve is a inexpensive part and not very precise. Adjustment is made by bending the float arm. My valve required several adjustments, requiring several removals of the back filter assembly/cover. The unit is designed for sash type windows. It will fit in horizontal sliders, but then you must make your own baffles to seal the window. The supplied kit only works for windows that open vertically. Operational Flaw My cooler also has an operational flaw. At a somewhat random frequency (2-8hrs) the pump shuts off while the fan continues to run. In no time the pad goes dry, and I’m blowing 3200cfm 105F air into my house! Essick/Mastercool was responsive and sent me a new controller, and a new fan motor (old fan is not compatible with new controller). That’s great, kudos to customer service, but I still have to take the fron & back off the unit and install the new parts. Not something for less than an experience do-it-yourselfer or pro. So DO NOT BUY unless you are above average in DIY, and are prepared to fine tune it to get it right. I think that the optional purge pump kit is a must (also requires DIY skills), and be prepared to replace parts if yours also has issues. Once you get it dialed in, it performs well, and the plastic will never rust.
