Questions & Answers

I'm wanting to build dollhouse furniture, would this work for that?

Asked by: Cynthia
Cynthia - 1/4 inch thick may be too thick. Maybe 1/8 inch thick hard board. Assuming doll house scale is about 1:18 TO 1:24 then 1/4 inch real scale would be about be about 6 inches thick for doll house scale. 1/8 inch would represent about 3 inches for your dollhouse furniture.

Does this product contain urea formaldehyde and does it meet ANSI A208.2 (CARB)?

Does this product contain urea formaldehyde and does it meet ANSI A208.2 (CARB)?
Asked by: dmartin
This question has been asked multiple times with the same indirect response of something like, "this is carb 2 certified," by BC Customer Service. Based on this response, it seems this product does contain formaldehyde, and that the off-gassing is within limits of the CARB 2 Regulation. If you're looking for a formaldehyde-free product, this is likely not it- again, based on the response from the mfr.. If hardboard can be used for your project instead, as of the date of this comment, the data sheets are available for download provided by the manufacturer (Eucatex, I believe) on the Home Depot website product page. The data sheet has full specs and ingredient listings and the product description states no formaldehyde is added.

could this be used for a ramp for a 30lb dog?

Asked by: Carl
This material would be a bit thin for a 4-foot ramp. Plus thr surface might prove to be too slippery. I would go for something thicker with a rougher surface, just to be on the safe side.
