The only reason I would not recommend this product is because of the poor battery life. I have to replace the batteries every 6 or 7 weeks.

Had to cut it off my door
Not knowing anything about locks like reviewer Old Coot, I will concur that this lock is of the lowest grade. You get what you pay for basically. It looks great for what it is but the knob is hollow and the back plate is a brushed satin finished plastic. Maybe it was our unit but it really sucked up the batteries. It takes a lot of batteries and I replaced the set more than twice in less than a year. My kids left the key inside the room it was locking and used the remote to lock it then the batteries went out again and I had no way to get in the room so I had to cut the knob off the door! What a nightmare!

Know that this is a Grade 3, the lowest rating generally of any lockset. The electronic feature is basically an add-on to a very weak keyed unit, only for convenience and adding nothing but novelty. It is likely poorly built, vulnerable to all the ordinary attacks including picking, but also the basic brute force attacks like screwdrivers, hammers, drills, and saws. Grade 3 must only survive 2 x 75 lb. impacts; Grade 1, 10 x (Grade 2, 5 x). The bolt itself however, Grd. 2 and 3 need be only 5/8" thick, versus 1 inch for Grade 1. Note also that other aspects, like metal thickness and hardness can vary, and lastly, even Grade 1 specs are far below what modern higher security locks can provide. Grade 3 is "Builder Grade," i.e. minimal to pass most renting codes, while Grade 1 is called "Commercial grade," i.e. expected to withstand lots more use, and also protect more valuable inventory, than the average home. The electronic aspect per se may be relatively secure, but it conveys a false sense of improvement on top of an inherently poor lock, which is still right there to be attacked just like any other cheap lock. Spend that extra money on at least a reputable Grade 2, or save for Grade 1 and reinforcement hardware that hardens the door and frame from physical force.
