I am quite impressed with mine. I used mine to cut various hardwoods and plywoods up to 1/4 inch thick so far. It made short work of the jobs Ii used it for. It had plenty of power to slice right through the woods no problem. I should have bought one years ago.

This is one of those, where have you been all my life kind of things. I should have gotten one years ago. Anyway, it is marvelous at ripping thin boards into more thin strips. I use mine for model airplane building where I need 1/16", 1/8", 1/4", etc. size strips of wood. A big table saw works, but it makes more wide cuts and it is large and more inconvenient in size for making small strips of wood. The little mini or micro table saws have no power or strength to cut wood. But the Microlux does have the size convenience and power to cut wood. I had no problem cutting 1/8 inch ply sheets into 1/2" or wider strips. It made short work of cutting or ripping 36 inch lengths of 1/4" hardwood like spruce and popular into 1/4"x1/2" strips. So all in all it is a great tool to have. It actually works.

Did my research on this little saw first. A bit pricey. But we’ll work it for those serious about their hobby craft work. I just started my cemetery and adding more as I have time to saw.

Fantastic Little Saw!! I bought this saw about 10 years ago and it has worked flawlessly ever since. I've cut plastic, thin brass, hardwoods (up to 1/2 inch) & plywood (up to 3/4) with it and had no problems. I really like the fact that it is variable speed (although plastics can still tend to melt a bit along the edge). Great for cutting small pieces of detail molding!
