Questions & Answers

Can I mount this on a steel bridge?

I have a steel bridge and I want use this to sense vehicles on the bridge (exiting) and then open my Mighty Mule 502 gate opener. Will the steel bridge mess up the magnetic field detection?
Asked by: Steve
I mounted my sensor on my steel bridge and have had no problem. Before I mounted it, I did some tests with a temporary mount to see if I had any false openings. Everything checked out ok. The only false opening was when my neighbor wiggled the temporary post which has the same effect as moving metal.

Can I run two of these? My driveway branches just before my gate -two different approaches- and cannot span this distance with just one sensor (sensing wand works for just 12'?). Can I connect up two to the control panel, or, splice the wires from one into the other which then runs to the control panel?
Asked by: Me
I assume if you splice the wires together it will work... or just install it in the middle of the split

Can I have one on both sides of the gate. Thanks Dave

Asked by: dave
it has a 12 foot sensor range so unless your driveway is more than 30 feet wide it is not necessary
