Q:The small hard rollers don't work well on uneven surfaces.

Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your feedback. KneeBlades work best on even surfaces.

by|Dec 30, 2020

A:  Small hard rollers do not work well on uneven surfaces. This is true because they are made to run on flat hard wood floors only. Any smooth surface surface is easy and quick to use and can be used on concrete after drying it as well as on a smooth surface. If you want to make them work on an uneven surfaces, you must change (replace) the wheels(hard rollers) larger sizes with your spring feature.

A:  I think they would. My husband used them for laying tile and liked them a lot.

A:  The KneeBlades have a removable roller housing and can be used with the casters for rolling on surfaces or without the roller housing as knee pads. These would work for your application.

A:  I weigh 250 and they work well for me on hard surfaces, carpet is a different story. Keep in mind the caster weight will vary when you lean forward putting more weight on the single front wheel!

These things are built very heavy duty, and I'm sure they'll support anyone, literally. The stretchable straps are comfortable and fit any size. The biggest problem is that the velcro ends are made of a hard plastic backing, which will wrinkle after you bend your legs, so when you stand up they loosen and fall off under their own weight. This could be a quick fix, and I also think more could be done to secure these to the leg as they're very heavy (if worn with blades). -Could this be a cool kids toy? -Absolutely. Now, they advertise increased balance, yet while wearing these it feels like you're gonna roll off in any given direction any second. It definitely takes getting used to, and finding a way to stabilize yourself with these on. In my opinion, they're not worth it, as if you're working with something sharp or doing precision work or applying something which can drip, these may be VERY risky to wear, especially if the floor has any angle to it, as that's the direction you're gonna roll. Now, it's not to say that you can't stop yourself, as these blades have very low ground clearance (about a half-inch), so if you shift your weight rearward, then the plastic will dig into the ground and act as a brake, along with your feet. However, don't expect to get much leverage out of them, as they have a mind of their own. With this said, they are stable with their equally-distributed/spaced casters, which are made of non-marring rubber, though they get chewed up fast on rough terrain and pick up lots of dirt as well. So what ARE these good for? I can see them being used in the removal of old building materials or hand painting (IF you have one hand on the floor to balance yourself). On the other hand, if you remove the pads from the rollers, these make for a pair of VERY light, comfortable knee pads. This is easily done with the push button on the bottom. I'm not sure how long the strap will hold up until it's scuffed and rips, but it seems rather thick. The rings are all plastic, which could be possible future points of failure. I must say that the silicone used in these feels amazing; incomparably better than all the other pads I've ever used.

These Knee Blades are AWESOME! You can roll all over the place very comfortably. They roll so smoothly and the adjustable fit is perfect. They are made very well and are surpisingly light weight. The gel padding feels great and so does your back and knees. They are steady, solid and easy to maneuver. Built to take some heavy use and cover your shins too. (see pic). I couldn't believe how comfortable and easy to glide around on they are. So so HAPPY!!

My wife tried these rolling knee pads out on our laminated floors. She was able to easily move around and clean the floors without the rolling knee pads going out from under her. The knee pads are easy to separate from the roller section easily. The Velcro strap is easy to attach to your knees. The straps are comfortable on the back of the knees. I would highly recommend this product.

These are heavier and better constructed than I expected. The wrap-around gel pad inserts are thick and firm and do a good job of disbursing your weight over the entire pad. I found the inserts to be very comfortable during extended use. The Hook and Loop straps secures the blades snugly to your legs. The insets are easily removable with the push of a button under the glide allowing you to use just the inserts without the rollers. I used them while installing a vinyl tile floor in a storage area. They are a little difficult to put on while standing, much easier while seated, and due to their weight with the rollers attached walking around with them on is very uncomfortable. The wheels are soft enough that they don't leave any marks on the floor and they roll smoothly once they're headed in a given direction but going from say a forward direction to a lateral direction requires a bit of maneuvering. About half way through the job I removed the rollers and completed the flooring with just the inserts. I guess if you have a large area to do and a helper is feeding you the flooring, not requiring to get up and down, these will make the job go quicker but for a small job I don't see the advantage to having the rollers. Junk they don’t stay together.
30 year industry professional here, these are junk. The wheels separate from the pads, the manufacturer even tested a set, then shipped to me and it still did it. They act like they have no clue.
