Questions & Answers

Can the vials be replaced ?

Asked by: IBEW332
I don't believe they can be replaced, but they are very stout - I doubt they could break from drops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Stout Level Been using this very well-crafted level to bend and run electrical conduit. I have probably a dozen torpedo levels, and nothing comes close to matching it when it comes to magnetic holding power. This thing will stick to a piece of conduit or pipe and will not move. As for other features, the magnified vials really make it easy to read, with my older eyes. The locking angle finder is very accurate, and marked with the most commonly used angles. Fit and finish on this is excellent, as you would expect in this price range. This is a contractor-grade tool, in every sense. Made in China, the level is covered by Milwaukee's limited lifetime warranty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for almost everything I have to say I'm a little bit of a level fanatic. I have many and I'm constantly on the search for the perfect level. Since I'm a plumber I need an easy to read, durable, and super strong magnets. This level checks all the boxes. It's got a good weight and feels very sturdy. The magnets are super strong and seem to be the strongest of all the levels I own. Finally the vials are huge and very easy to read. It even has an adjustable angle vial that adjusts with a thumbscrew. I had a Fat Max level with an adjustable vial but you need a screwdriver to make the adjustment...Royal Pain. I'm super pleased with this level and hope to have it for a long long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Level This is a great level. The magnets are really powerful, and the level itself is sturdy and well constructed - you can tell this is a durable tool. The 360 rotating dial allows you to identify any incline or angle. The vials are easy to read and precise. At 10", it's super portable - small enough to throw in a tool box or carry in a tool belt. It also has a slot for a lanyard, so you don't have to worry about dropping it. Absolutely a top-notch product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Throw all the others out... This is truly the mother of all torpedo levels. I find myself using a torpedo level more often than any other, mainly since it is right there in my tool belt. This is ruggedly constructed of aluminum with protected vials, so it should last decades. Of course, it has a fixed bubble vial for each zero and ninety degrees, but what makes this fantastic is an adjustable bubble for any other angle that you need. A lot of pipes, conduits, rails, etc are at different angles that you need to make consistent and this will do that perfectly. Electricians, plumbers, welders, HVAC techs and carpenters will all find this a great level. The magnets are stronger than on any other level I have used. It will even stick securely to a drywall corner bead. The only thing that I can think of that would make it better is if it had lighted vials, which seem to be very popular now for a good reason, but I think that all of the other assets of this product outweigh that feature. This is the level to pass down to your grandchildren.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One beefy Boy This is on Bad Level. Not cheap plastic, no weak little wimpy magnets and no small unreadable vials. Milwaukee 10” torpedo level weights in at a hefty 13.1 ounces. My other plastic levels average 3 ounces. Large magnified vials you can read across the room. I need my reading glasses to see the vials on the other levels. Wider base making a much sturdier and stable level. Comes with 2 earth magnets so strong you can hardly pull off your project. You have to tip it to one side to release it. I tested it on my storage container and seriously could hardly pull it straight off have to tip to the side to get it to release easier. Dial level is perfect when needing to set or find the level angle of any given project turn the set screw and lock it in for making the same angle multiple times. There’s a hole at the tip to tie a rope or attach a lanyard to keep it from dropping at heights. The only negative comment I can say is it would be nice to have the numbers on both sides of the dial level. This Milwaukee level is truly the last level you’ll need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very professional I have had similar cast torpedo levels before and this is by far my favorite. This level is made of high-quality materials and is easy to read and use. The accuracy (I checked) is dead-on for both the static vials. The 360-degree vial I great, especially since it can be locked down tight. A former level of mine that did not lock would always move and was irritating to use. Not so with this level. I keep mine locked in the 45 degree position, by far the most used, and haven't had to reset it yet. Though I am unsure about what exactly "amplified" rare-earth magnets are, the level holds tight against steel tubing, pipe and conduit. Electricians and plumbers, and other specific trades will find a lot of use from this level.
