Questions & Answers

Does this clamp come with plastic "feet" so that the surface of the wood is not "scored, or do they have be ordered.

After looking at the picture of this item, I would purchase this, except it does not indicate whether or not this comes with plastic "feet" to keep from leaving indentations on the board. If this does not I will have to look elsewhere.

What is the difference between the swivel jaws and regular jaws?

Asked by: 007Rancher
The swivel jaws have a larger clamping surface area that distributes the pressure over about 1-inch square inch of space, They are particularly useful when clamping items with flat surfaces, such as two boards or sheets of metal. C-clamps with regular jaws have a much smaller, rounded compression point that can apply significant pressure to a relatively small area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy new feature. As expected for a Milwaukee tool, it was constructed to last. It has a nice solid feel to it, and it operates smoothly. There is one thing that sets it apart though. The know for adjusting the jaw is flat and has a hole that you can put a screwdriver through. This is one of those features that you either love or hate. I love it because I can tighten up the clamp after I have squeezed it closed. This is handy for two reasons. First, if your grip gets weaker with age, or other reasons, you can leave it lose enough to close easily, and then add more tension. The second use is that you can use it two draw two pieces together just like you would with a standard C clamp. The down side of this, and the reason some people will hate it, is that it feels strange when you go to adjust the clamp. I don't think it is uncomfortable, but it is different. It will take a bit of getting used to. But I feel that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. You may feel differently...
