Looks nice, needs improvement to function properly
I love Milwaukee power tools, but their hand tools still need improving. I bought this spud wrench to install brass valves on piping system. Although the locking nut doesn’t seem to stay at the desired size, the wrench slips and damages the brass finish, which is exactly why I didn’t use jaws on the brass.

The jaws slip!!! They are manufactured wrong!!!
The top and bottom jaws are not parallel with each other. They slip when you are tightening fittings. Not sure about the quality control but the 2 sets I ordered were misaligned. The ridgid pair I have is much better quality. Fix your tooling Milwaukee!!!!

        Not square.
Milwaukee has been my favorite brand for almost all of my tools but I am very disappointed with this wrench not being square.

The Milwaukee 48-22-7171, 12 in. Steel Offset Hex Pipe Wrench is an excellent tool to have for many plumbing repairs. This wrench has been very beneficial to me when working on commercial toilets. The regular pipe wrenches I normally use are often too large and easily slip off some fittings. The offset pipe wrench eliminates those two problems. With three points of contact it grabs and holds. I no longer have scarred chrome from slipping wrenches. The offset, shorter length makes it easier to work it the cramped space between the wall and flush assembly. I can foresee many years of use thanks to Milwaukee quality and the limited lifetime warranty.

I'm always looking for a better, more effective, lightweight tool for the ever increasing number of tools in my tool bag. This Milwaukee 12 in. steel offset hex pipe wrench is a winner! I compared it to my old 14" pipe wrench. This new wrench weighs 1 lb. 12 ozs. versus 3 lb. 9 ozs. for my old pipe wrench. Also, the new wrench provides a 3 1/8" max. opening & a 13/16" minimum opening versus 2 1/2" max. & 0" min. opening on the old wrench. The overall length of the new wrench is about 10 1/2" versus 12 5/8" for the old wrench. They both are heavy duty steel. The low profile on the head of this new wrench permitted me to slide into a tight space, solidly grip & unscrew a 1 1/2" nut, whereas my old wrench would not fit into that same tight space. The approximately 6" long handle was comfortable to hold and allowed me to apply maximum turning force. The handle's offset design provided additional room to turn the wrench, before having to reposition it. The non marring smooth jaws on this new wrench did not grip and turn a 2" O.D. round steel pipe, like my old pipe wrench, with teeth. This new wrench does an incredible job on nuts, without marring them. This is a great tool!

Best pipe wrench I have ever owned. The offset design is wonderful as it allows you the flexibility the standard wrenches don’t. I am remodeling the bathroom in my home which was built in 1953. Don’t believe these tub fittings have ever been taken off and had problems breaking them lose. This pipe wrench solved that problem. Having the ability to lock onto any pipe from smooth to octagonal along with the tightness with minimal play is very sweet indeed. Toss in the quality of Milwaukee tools and it is a total winner in my book.

The jaws were not parallel to each other, making the wrench essentially useless. Very difficult to get a tight grip on anything.

I would definitely buy this tool again.
Just a great all around tool I needed for my tool collection. In my job we have a lot of bigger her head nuts and bolts. . The adjustable her pipe wrench is versatile and also makes it very convenient to use and getting the right size every time I'm currently hoping to find the smooth jaw pipe wrench unfortunately I haven't been able to find it at my local store but the Milwaukee 48-22-7171 is a must have for any maintenance mechanic.
