The new guard design is terrible!!
I hate the new guard design which isn't even pictured on the website. I used to love this grinder, but you have ruined it for me. As soon as I opened the box and saw the new design, I wanted to return it. I put it back in the box and decided to think on it for a while. I got it back out a month later and I still hate it and wish I could return it. I haven't even plugged it in. The new guard is cheap and the latch release sticks out past the end of the tool minimizing the working distance from the head. I may start buying yellow and black like the rest of the sheep. I'm very disappointed.

Marshall Custom Welding approves this grinder!
I own a small welding shop and currently running 7 Milwaukee grinders. 2 of these, another similar but with paddle switch, the beast 7"/9" corded, 2 of the basic 18V cordless and one Fuel 5" 18v. They all have their uses, but this one is my favorite. I recommend these to my welding students (I sub for the welding progam at Okaloosa Tech). I've also given out 3 in raffles, they all love it.

Loved the old guards and wouldn't buy anything else, but this new design is terrible. Looking elsewhere for a better product

Do not waste you money
Let me start by saying, unfortunately we have purchased 48 of these grinders. The warranty is good, 5 years. Milwaukee has to be losing money as often as i send them in for repair. The triggers, the armatures, and the guards are the most common issues. Milwaukee needs to go back to the drawing board with this product.

Very nice grinder, lightweight, ergonomically comfortable, powerful for a 5 inch grinder. The only problem is the price, I think $150 is too expensive, $100 or $110 is reasonable.
