The Milwaukee 14 in. Redstick Digital Box Level with Pin-Point Measurement Technology is a powerful feature rich digital level. The front and top displays are very clear and offer accuracy readings to 1000th of a degree, with indications to confirm direction and degree of level cant. The pin-point measurement technology also brings accuracy and reliability to various project task, allowing for inch\mm per foot readings that correlate to the degree of canted changes. Virtually Any degree of level change, due to unstable materials or temp changes, will display immediately! The unit comes with a nice protective travel case, but is very solidly built and has removable clip on durable plastic end caps. The lithium rechargeable battery easily powers the unit all day and recharges in just 1 hour. I consider this Milwaukee 14" level an investment in supreme durability, accuracy and precision for all of my measurement task!!

What I like about this level is it actually shows you, by numeric value, exactly how level you are. No more guessing! The level has 2 displays, the front and the top. The top display is larger and very bright. The controls are easily changed using the soft touch buttons on the front of the level. You can select to display level either as an angle in degrees, a percent, inches/ft., or mm/m. The sensitivity and tolerance can be changed for each manner you chose to display. There is also an audio capability the lets you know when you have reached level. The level also comes with the capability of saving angles to allow you to reproduce an angle. The level comes with battery, charger and protective carrying case. For more detail see the photos and video.

This is the 14” version of the new Milwaukee digital levels (model number MLDGIG14). It’s also available in 24”, 48”, and 72” models. It is a full-featured, highly accurate level. Photo 1 shows you what you get (Level, USB adapter, USB cord, Battery, and Case). Once you take it out of the box, the first thing you’ll notice is that this level does not include a standard bubble. That may or may not be important to you. To get started, install the battery (see Photo 2) and let it charge (the battery compartment can be a little tough to open—use caution so you don’t break the latch—fortunately, you won’t have to open the latch too often). It took about an hour for it to reach an 80% charge (green charging LED blinking). In the display there is a small battery icon that indicates the level of charge (I didn’t see this mentioned anywhere in the documentation). The included Quick Start guide (which is in color) does a better job of explaining the various modes and functions than the manual (black and white), so I’d start with that. As you approach level (see Photo 3), the main, side display (there is also a top display—see Photo 4) has a rotating indicator around the actual readout. This indicator rotates clockwise to indicate the left side of the level needs to be raised, and vice-versa for counter-clockwise. When you hit level (see Photo 5), the display turns green. You can also turn on an audio signal that lets you know when you’re approaching, and then achieving level. It’s easily turned on or off by double-tapping the power button (there is no visual indicator showing whether you set the sound to on or off). Some key features are Mode selection and PIN Mode. From the menu, you can select whether the display shows the angle, percent, inches per foot, or millimeters per meter. There is a separate button for selecting PIN mode. This feature lets you set the level to indicate level at a selected angle (it still reads the selected angle, but the display turn blue, like the way it turns green for true level). For example, if you’re trying set something at a 30 degree angle, you set the level so it indicates level (turns blue) at 30 degrees. The level also saves a list of the last five PINs (though the Quick Start guide says only two) so you easily return to them. To conserve power, there are two ways that the level enters the Sleep mode. You can leave it alone for three minutes or, lay the level on one of the faces, which puts it to sleep immediately. After another 10 minutes, the level shuts off. When in Sleep mode, you can either move the level or press any button to wake it up. I checked the level’s accuracy with a digital angle finder I have, and the Milwaukee level was dead on. Overall, I think this is a great level. The displays are easy to read and I found the controls easy to master. All my gripes are very minor so I didn’t take any stars off. I think this is a well-made, quality level. It comes with a 3 year warranty.

This product does the job but could be vastly improved. First, I have to note that, on the two level sets that I have received, one of the chargers was not working. Yes, I tried different outlets, switch levels, and there is no way around it: it does not charge. Surely, this is easily replaceable and the exchange policy of the Home Depot is pretty awesome, but it is still a frustrating hiccup. Second, the view from above is pretty neat: you clearly see the progress with very helpful bars. However the view from the side is confusing. When close to level, it is hard to know which direction is the inclination: arrows switch directions but it is really not clear at all. I'll probably get use to it, but I still need to think more than I should. Finally, the level is well made and seems well designed for intensive use. I dropped mine a few times and it did not seem to mind. It is very precise which is what matters most. The battery opening is a bit frustrating (I ended up prying the door with a screwdriver in order to prevent breaking my nails/fingers.) Anyhow, I hope that Milwaukee will quickly work on improving this product which has great potential.

Milwaukee a name well known for it's tools and the quality found within any thing they manufacture which includes this Digital Level. This level is very well made. It comes with a case to protect your level when not in use. The level can be recharged using the included USB cable. In addition it has a main display screen found on the side of the level, along with a top display that is in sync with the main screen making getting your reading either way. This particular Model is theMLDIG 14, and is 14" long. You can also get this level in 24", 48", or 72" lengths. The digital read out allows you to choose between, Angular, percentage, in/ft., or even mm/m. The level also offers a sensitivity setting, tolerance settings, sound on off option, setting options, power mode and language settings.. All in all Milwaukees digital level covers a lot of needs and possible situations that are all in one level... For me this level has become my new best friend for my project needs.

14" Redstick digital level is a great item to have in your tool box. I recently built and am including a pic of a retaining wall block mailbox pedestal I built for mine and the neighbors mailboxes. I started the project just before dark and finished up several hours later. With this being digital, means I could see the front gage and the top level in the dark. I was doing it with a 500 watt halogen light so I could see what I was doing. the level was great in that I could easily see the indicators without needing to see the actual bubble as it is lit up digitally. You can set pin points on this, so if you have an angle you want to maintain, it will remember it and tell you it is level when you achieve the pin point angle and make the beep to let you know. The front gauge shows you a round compass type image which shows lines on both sides and how they are compared to level. It also has an indicator that rotates around the outside of the compass to indicate which side needs to be raised up, Usually I can't remember and pick up on side to see if that is the direction I need to change, then adjust accordingly. This will do not only level, it will do % grades, rise and fall and degrees so it works in a multitude of ways, You can also set the sensitivity so if you are not doing detailed work that needs absolute accuracy and close is good, it will beep when it is within the setting you have it for. That way for rough in, you are not being told by the level that it has to be as close on tolerance when it says it is level. Bubble levels can only do soooo much, if you want more accurate and be able to see it in the dark, this is for you. Its Milwaukee so you know it has good quality, but also has a pricey price tag as well. Great level, really helped me get a quality job done for my mail man and get him off my back.

I fought with it for a few minutes to get it open. Felt like I was going to rip my fingernails off before I finally got it open. Not sure why some manufactures can’t design a simple easy opening battery door that does not take two people to open or a screwdriver. I realize no one wants the battery compartment door to fall open while using the tool, but come on. A Milwaukee CEO’s should try to open it. I would like to see a hole in the level so that I could hang it on the wall with the rest of my levels when I am not using it. Keeps it out of the way and safe from damage. I would also like to see a back up site vial for both horizontal and vertical. I guess I am old fashion. It is nice to have them on a level for a quick level check. I would also like to see a magnet on one side to help hold the level on metal, freeing up your hands to make a mark or draw a level line. I could not get the level to make a noise. I turned on the sound, however the level did not beep or anything while I was close or on level. It would be nice if the bag that is included was shaped like the level. It is shaped like a flat envelope. It should be a box shape like the level. It took awhile to get use to the buttons on the level. I kept pressing the wrong ones while I was attempting to use it. It is not as user friendly as my other digital levels. I did like that the display turned green when I got to zero on the level. I hope to get better acquainted with the level over time. I just don't find it as user friendly as my other digital levels.

This 15" digital level is very accurate, much more versatile (useful) than a standard level and gives you quick readings. It is fairly easy to use durable as well. See the video at the end of this review for an overview and demonstration. It performs the same functions as a standard level but provides the degree of level/angle or - and this is my favorite - how many inches/mm per foot/meter the surface is off level. It is pricey but the precision and versatility are worth it. It is also fairly lightweight. The displays on top and on the side are clear to read and along with an optional noise, the displays let you know when you are close to level or a desired angle (called a PIN). You can program angles through the Pin Point. So, let's say you want a 10 degree angle on your work, you can easily set the level to that, or any degree down to the thousandth, and the level will help you get there. I compared it to a standard level and it worked well, what I found is if you are within .25 degrees on the digital level, then your "bubble" is within the "lines" The level is programmed with a simple touch pad and has many options like setting the brightness of the screen, turning the sound on/off (it can get annoying), changing the reading (degrees, percent, 10ths/100ths/1000ths), language, etc. You can also adjust for tolerance if the level becomes inaccurate. The level can also save many PINS (measurements you program it to) It takes a little while to get used to programming it but is easy to use afterwards. The level also comes with user manuals, a USB charger, 5 volt rechargeable battery and a tough storage case. The battery lasts a good long time and is recharged inside the level with the USB charger. The ONLY thing I did not like about this level is the battery compartment cover. I found it impossible to remove by hand and needed a screwdriver. After a few battery removals, the clip for the cover broke, pretty easily. I have requested a new one. The good thing is you rarely need to take out the battery. Otherwise, the level is of the durable construction (rubber ends and metal) I have come to find from Milwaukee. 4.5/5 stars due to the difficult to remove battery compartment

This 14 inch digital box level is a remarkable improvement in box levels. I have had traditional bubble levels for decades and this digital level is superior by far. The ability to use the tone to check level allows you to change the base the level is sitting in and be in an awkward position. You will know when you are level by both the tone (if selected) and the top and side screens that show detailed information on the measurement. You may select from various setting to measure by such as angle or SAE/Metric measurements. You may also lock point angles allowing you to repeat a particular angle without having to reset each time. Just pick the angle and lock the pinpoint setting. Every time you achieve that measurement, the level will tell you. Light weight, durable and auto-adjusting screen allows for high and low light visibility. I love this level. The small size makes it easy to carry for use on DYI projects or leveling my RV out on campsites. .
