This Milwaukee extended ratchet makes it easier to brake nuts looser without a cheater bar attached to a wrench. I used this ratchet to help me to loosen a bolt to my hydraulic case under my John Deere tractor. I was able to place the socket on the plug and was able to loosen it easily from the side of the tractor. I would in the past have to crawl underneath the tractor to loosen up the bolt. It is great for getting into hard to reach places.

Milwaukee ½ in. Drive 90-Tooth 18 in. Extended Ratchet – This is a great tool; perfectly machined with a flawless finish. Since I already own a Milwaukee 3/8 in. ratchet, that I love, getting this ratchet was a no-brainer. It provides extra leverage to break loose stubborn bolts and nuts without switching to a breaker bar. I performed a test using ½ in. grade-2 bolts clamped in a vise. Using the ratchet and a socket, I tightened nuts on the ½ in. bolts past their break point and snapped the bolts; maybe 65 ft-lbs. I could have done this with a breaker bar, but not with a standard ½ in. ratchet. Additionally, there is a lifetime warranty from Milwaukee on this tool.

12 in Milwaukee Ratchet This ratchet is a big improvement over the past model. With the added benefit of its longer size, allowing for even more leverage. The ratchet configuration is in line with the industry trend of smooth lines, while still being controllable in the hand. The major improvement over past years is the inclusion of the high ratchet tooth count, over older models. The 90-tooth count on this ratchet allows you to only need a 4-degree movement of the ratchet to gain another "click" and adding that much more tightening or loosening of the fastener. That may not sound like much until you get into the tight spaces in and around todays equipment and vehicles. That rapid acting ratchet allows more work to be accomplished while working with the tighter and tighter tolerances found today. The ratchets smooth action and comfortable feel makes using the tool easier in all positions.

This Milwaukee 1/2inch drive 90 tooth 18 inch long extended ratchet is a work horse! I needed a ratchet this large to replace a broken one in our farm maintenance tool box. I had never considered getting the Milwaukee brand until now as it was exactly what I needed for tough jobs I get into to remove large stubborn fasteners. The contoured handle fits the hand grip much better and helps dissipate pressure in the hand by improving grip. The smooth chrome plating resists corrosion and makes for easy clean up after dirty jobs. After using this ratchet I am thoroughly impressed with its quality and strength.

The Milwaukee 18" ½" drive ratchet almost eliminates the need for a breaker bar. I used to use a breaker bar to loosen the lugnuts on my surburban (torqued to 149ft/lbs ) but I can break them free with this one tool and take the nut off, saving time by not swapping tools. The direction selection lever is literally marked "on and off". We all know righty tighty, lefty loosey.... but when working late nights to finish a project last minute or working at some crazy angle to access your bolt or nut, greatly helps to ensure you are going the direction you want. The ratchet has 90 teeth, resulting is very little handle movement ( about ¼" at end if handle) and you can turn your fastener when working in tight access area. Recap, comfortable handle, massive leverage, 90 tooth design and backed by the Milwaukee lifetime guarantee, this is a no brainer if you need a ½ ratchet.

I like this extended ratchet and found it to be useful. The 90 tooth ratchet is very smooth and allows you to get that ratchet action in tighter spaces. There is a 4 degree ratchet swing which also allows for that tight space ratcheting. The overall appearance of the ratchet looks like a quality product. The finish looks like it will last on the ratchet. The ratchet also has some laser engraving and on the back of the ratchet head Milwaukee has engraved the anvil size so that is a very nice touch if you have multiple ratchets. The handle feels decent in the hand and allows you to get a good grip on the ratchet. Everything seems like it was well made but if not Milwaukee does offer a lifetime guarantee on their hand tools which is really nice. Overall I would recommend this ratchet if you are in the market for a 12 inch extended ratchet.

This ratchet handle will come in handy for those hard-to-reach or hard-to-loosen nuts and bolts. With its 18-inch reach and four-degree arc swing (provided by the 90-tooth head), it will not be necessary to resort to the typical cheater pipe on a smaller handle not intended for the applied force. The directional toggle is recessed to minimize snagging on adjacent equipment or wiring and the rounded end of the handle will not irritate the palm of your hand when using without gloves. I found the smooth, chrome-plated grip area to be quite comfortable, however this is a personal preference, as some folks prefer an unplated and/or a knurled grip. The ratchet mechanism is serviceable (after removing two Torx screws) and the manufacturer’s “Lifetime Mechanics Hand Tool” guarantee should alleviate any concern about overstressing the 90-tooth ratchet gear. Definitely a good addition to the tool chest.

Wow, This Milwaukee 18” ratchet is well designed. The extra length maximizes your force and makes life easier when removing tight and/or corroded nuts like some lug nuts and some nuts on farm implements. The thickness of the handles is large enough for a comfortable grip, but small enough to fit inside of a pipe for those instances when even more force is needed. The Milwaukee ratchet is well made and quite heavy duty. You can feel comfortable putting some muscle behind this one. I did some quick work reattaching the 3-point hitch on my tractor after removing the backhoe. I put some meat into it and it didn’t seem to mind. I had plenty of room to use this thing and the extra force came in handy. The ratchet is easy to use. A simple yet positive switch labelled “On” and “Off” sets the direction. The sockets attach simply and remain snuggly in place until you remove them. I guess I’m more comfortable with détente pins than friction rings, probably due to familiarity. Probably doesn’t really matter but this ratchet has the détente pin and it works well as one would expect. This thing is going to come in handy on my farm. I may get another one to keep with a special tool kit that I bring along when towing my utility trailer. Oh, an added bonus, this 18” ratchet easily fits neatly into my towing tool box. All-in-all, this is one mighty fine ratchet.

This ratchet worked like a charm for me. I was working on a small job but it worked super easy and with no problems. The gear ratio is really tight. You barely have to turn the ratchet before it grabs another tooth. It’s designed to work in tight and limited access spaces. The handle of the unit is thin and flat on two sides. This along with the gear ratio allows it to perform great. The one thing I wish was different was that the socket head locked onto the ratchet. It’s just what I am used to. I would recommend this to a friend. Speaking off friends, don’t loan this out or you will never see it again.

There will be no more busting my knuckles anymore on my car projects. This Milwaukee 1/2 Drive 90 Tooth Extended Ratchet offers 18 inches of solid leverage. And with 4° of swing and 90 tooth ratchet no more putting the old pipe on my old 1/2 ratchet to remove that stubborn bolt. The highly polished Milwaukee tool with an laser etched tool will be easy to keep clean. The flush directional lever offers positive control with a easy flip of the lever. I would like to see a push button release of the socket. For when your hands are super greasy. This tool just feels good in your hands. And also the lifetime warranty gives you peace of mind this tool will last a lifetime.
