Absolute garbage
This thing is expensive and it's absolute garbage right out of the box. Leaking chemicals all down my back from inside the hose connection point at the tank. Just spent over 20 minutes on hold with Milwaukee and they hung up on me. I own many many thousands of dollars of Milwaukee tools and will never purchase another one. What a piece of crap. Clearly other people are having the same issue in Milwaukee is not willing to do anything about it. What a trash company.

Bought 2 units 3 hours apart - both leaked.
I loved the concept and really wanted to like this sprayer. Bought 2 of them today about 3 hours apart. The first one I filled with water and round up - leaked all over my truck and bottom of tank on hose side. Drive the hour back to Home Depot and picked up another one. Didn’t waste round up on this one - filled with water and what do you know, it leaked in the same a lot. I removed to black plastic on bottom to see it maybe something wasn’t sealed or hose clamped poorly - but it’s leaking from the plastic tank where the inside piece meets it. Oh well, I emailed Milwaukee - but no response yet. Guess I’ll have to find an alternate product now.

So far this has been a great sprayer. I did have one previously which did not work on arrival but it was quickly replaced by Milwaukee. I like this sprayer because I don't have to worry about cross contamination. I have one for Pesticides, another for Roundup, Herbicides and for Natural spraying (fruit trees, etc). I hook them on the wall with their built in hook. I like that it can be adjusted from barely a dribble to a full high reach spray. It also works with my standard 18v Milwaukee battery which is a great benefit as well. I don't have to workout one arm pumping away. The pack is a bit heavy but I have adapted a holder to the back of my tractor that I use to carry it throughout my property.

Fantastic product as usual from Milwaukee. I’ve actually increased the efficiency of my weed spray mix as my previous sprayer for 2 gallons would only last about 30 min worth of spraying where 2 gal in the Milwaukee will last me 2 hrs straight or more. Only gripe is there is not sufficient padding on the shoulder straps for the weight of the fully filled pack.

I have a several hundred square feet of roof and pavement that I treat periodically for moss. I've been using a manual pump backpack sprayer that's tiring to keep pumping, so I thought this M18 sprayer would be a great solution. I'm an older guy and since the sprayer pretty heavy even empty I used it with only 1.5 gallons (12 lbs) of solution at a time.. The fact that the backboard is hard plastic doesn't help the comfort level. With the smaller amount of solution I got along pretty well and was able to climb the ladder to the roof and spot-spray the moss. I really appreciated the high pressure jet - I was able to spray under my 12' deep solar array and could spot spray a wide area on the roof around where I was standing. The adjustable nozzle adjustment is very sensitive - it's about a quarter turn from jet to mist. The handle has two locks - one to lock it open and one to lock it closed. There is a basket strainer under the tank cap. The holes in the strainer are larger than the holes in the solution intake at the bottom of the tank so particles could get through that would clog the intake. Although it's not shown in the instructions, it's pretty easy to remove and clean the tank intake when the tank is empty - a quarter turn counter-clockwise releases it. The hose and wand keeper are on the right side. I'm left-handed so I have the hose draped across my front while spraying, but the hose is long enough this wasn't an issue. The pump and hose are built into the tank and the motor that drives the pump is in the base. When it quit spraying and the tank was level, there was still some solution in the tank. I used the tank drain to empty the tank and there was a little more than a pint of solution left in the tank. On the roof I found that if I leaned to the left (since the intake is on the left side of the tank) I could drain the tank down to a couple of tablespoons of solution left. After spraying 3 gallons, the XC5.0 battery I used was down one light on the battery gauge. The battery compartment is large - I was able to install an M18 HD12.0 battery in it, but won't be using it since I don't need the sprayer to be any heaver.

This sprayer is a monster! First, this is not a sprayer that you pull out to take care of the half dozen dandelions invading your lawn. This thing is a high capacity, high performance spraying system. You'd use this to take care of the neighborhood's dandelion problems! It's big, and heavy, especially with 4 gallons in it! It is a backpack so the weight is pretty well distributed, and because it's battery operated it doesn't require you to pump. The coolest part is that the tank, and sprayer are separate from the backpack, that means you can have a tank for grass killer and one for fungicide and one for water, with no risk of cross contamination. Given its size, and costs, (battery and charger, the tool and separate tanks) this is a professional tool.

Powerful, flexible, comfortable, and easy to use. The Milwaukee “switch tank” sprayer (Model 2820-21PS) provides power and capacity for large jobs and the detachable tank makes for rapid switching between liquids (e.g. insecticide, fertilizer). It's virtually dripless when changing tanks. There is also a convenient drain port for the tank. I was easily able to spray jets of liquid to the second story of the house, or adjust the nozzle to broadcast large areas of the lawn and shrubbery. The unit comes with two nozzles: a heavy duty adjustable brass nozzle and an angled fan-spray plastic nozzle. The pump ran strong until the tank had less than two cups of liquid before sputtering. I ran about 3 tanks of water (12 gallons total) as a test and the battery held strong and still showed fully charged. I have no doubt I could have sprayed 10 or more with the included 3-Ah battery. The power switch and flow control knob are easy to reach and operate, and the trigger lock on the spray wand helps tremendously. The straps are fully adjustable and provide a wide load surface so wearing it is fairly comfortable, even fully loaded. The waist band is wide and strong so it serves as a back brace, which is important given a fully loaded tank and sprayer can weigh 55 pounds. Putting that much weight on can be a challenge, but placing the loaded unit on a counter and stepping backwards into it worked well. The unit has a great wand-storage mechanism when not in use. It clips the long wand near the trigger while the tip drops into a small pocket on the base of the sprayer. Unfortunately, the clip and pocket are on the sprayer base, not the tank, and since the wand/hose/tip stay with the tank when it's removed, there is no way to store the wand when the tank is disconnected from the sprayer. It's a minor inconvenience Having the hose/want integrated with the tank has pros and cons. The advantage is you never have to rinse the hose and tank if you have multiple tanks. The con is cost. The price of just an extra tank (with wand, hose and tip) is 50% more than the cost of some four-gallon manual backpack sprayers. As an extra, the unit fits nicely on an 11” deep shelf between two studs that are 16” on center, though the straps dangle. Spare tanks will fit even better. The sprayer is a joy to use and while it may be too much for most home owner (i.e. DIY) landscape jobs, it certainly makes them – and larger jobs – very easy.
