Product Overview

The Concrete Level is a new-to-world solution that combines a level with the functionality of a screed and Darby. The wide, 2 in. magnesium base has two unique edges; a squared edge for screening and a round edge for smoothing. The Concrete Level also has vials, not only for level and plumb, but also for pitch (1/8 in. and 1/4 in.) which is critical for determining run-off. In addition, the keyhole design provides a continuous grip and maximum durability. The magnesium, TPE and plastic components make it light weight and easy to clean.
  • Dedicated concrete working edges - a squared edge for screening and striking, a rounded edge for smoothing
  • Ergonomic keyhole frame that delivers maximum durability and continuous grip across entire level
  • Multi-functional tool provides a level and screed in a single unit
  • Magnesium base for screeding, smoothing and easy clean
  • Sharp site pitch vial for easily reading 1/8 in. and 1/4 in. pitches

(What's this)
Easy to use professional grade concrete screed. So far have used for a small pad that I added on to existing stair landing.Screening and smoothing made easier with magnesium base that offers both square and round edge. Vials are large, easy to read and include pitch lines for proper drainage.Solid feel to tool and contoured to make it easy to grip in a messy job.Milwaukee made this level tough with an aluminum inner frame for durability. Very easy clean up with a hose which saves time. Worthwhile investment.

(What's this)
An essential tool for pouring footings and finishing concrete properly. It helped this novice concrete mason get a great result on my rustic porch project. The level is made of magnesium and composite materials so it is lighter weight for its size and is easy to clean. The bubble level is large and easy to read. We’re building a rustic porch with real tree logs for the columns and the footings measure 2’ x 2’ x 18” deep. The outside columns required us to build footing boxes to hold the poured concrete and this screed level was perfect for getting the 1% slope to move water towards the outside edge of the porch slab. After cutting the footings into the existing concrete slab, we made forms from plywood. We placed the screed level on the outer top edge of the form boxes and the pre-marked lines on the bubble level allowed us to maintain the 1% slope of the existing slab. The bubble level has two pre-marked lines indicating 1% (0.6 degree) and 2.1% (1.2 degree) slopes. The footings took about 8 bags of cement to fill and once we had the cement parallel with the tops of the existing slab and form boxes, the screed was very useful in leveling out the wet concrete. The two edges of the blade are slightly different shapes – one is square for the initial pass and the other is rounded for the second ‘smoothing’ pass. I found that it was handy to have a pointed trowel available to remove the excess concrete from the initial leveling process. Despite some of the aggregate stones getting stuck under the blade during the leveling process, the magnesium didn’t scratch or gouge excessively. Since we were setting columns made of natural cedar tree logs into the footings, I had to maneuver the screed around 8-10” diameter logs and still ended up with a good result. After leveling and smoothing the concrete with the screed, we used a float to pull the smoother mortar towards the surface of the wet concrete and push some of the aggregate stones down into the mix. Finally we used a finishing trowel to get a nice smooth finish on the slab as it cured as shown in the attached video. It also comes with a lifetime warranty.

Great option for sidewalks and other medium size areas that need a precise slope for drainage. No waiting to check after it you have already smoothed it out, or after it dries, just take your time and level as you go. Has a good griping area, two levels, and a nice aluminum finish plate. Easy to clean and not too heavy. At 48 inches, this can accommodate a lot of different projects.

(What's this)
I have a sidewalk that was done in sections. It collects water every time it rains because both sides slope to the middle. I have been thinking of how I was going to slope this out so that it slopes away from the house so it will stop collecting the water. Picture shows how big the puddle is. Concrete leveler can be used to re-slope the sidewalk, but how to know while I am screeding it. Then I saw this little beauty. As you can see in the pictures, there isn't a big depression in the sidewalk, but it does collect water and dirt. The total slope from one side to the other is enough to drain the water.

(What's this)
This is a multi-use heavy duty screed/level. Weighing in at about 4lb 5oz. it requires a fair amount of arm strength for one individual to use as a screed pulling through heavy material like concrete. With a 48” span it could require 2 people to use it effectively over its full span. It’s a first-class tool, with a solid metal base, and two large level vials (one horizontal, one vertical) with visual step offsets for use in setting grades (see pictures). The bubbles are extra-large and exceptionally easy to see and read. The contoured rubber hand-grip along the full top side of the tool made it easy to hold the screed even in wet or slippery conditions (see picture). I haven’t used it yet for concrete or patio base prep work, but I did for checking the flatness of a wide surface. It was great for confirming that my concrete board installation was perfectly flat before I installed tile (see picture). I can see that the screed section will clean up easily, although the black rubber hand grips are bound to attract some grime. As other reviewers have mentioned, it’s great to have a level function built into the screed, saving time and steps not having to reach for another tool. This is a very nice product that I would recommend to others.

(What's this)
This is a very clever and useful tool. Milwaukee Brand tools are the very best on the market today. This four foot level is extremely accurate. I handed it to an expert concrete contractor and he fell in love with it. I am too. When doing concrete work the less tools you use the faster and easier the clean up is. This level/screed lets you double check you work as you go.
