A:  It would have to be a 1/2" hole saw center bit. Most aren't.

    Q:This is an extension of 12" 7/16" hex "quick lock" to 7/16 "quick lock" socket this locks in the groove in the end and you must pull the collet back to unlock the bit no magnet ... the specs say its 12" long IT IS a 14"long (12"extension).

    A:  Yes the locking mechanism holds the bit very well. I’ve used this extension for over 3 years now on the job and never had a bit come loose.

    saves your butt when you need a little more reach!
    this extension made it easier to drill holes through studs to install the drain line for a mini split. I got into a tight spot where I couldn't fit my big quick lok extension, but it wouldn't work just chucked in the drill. so off to home depot I went to find a solution and here it was.
