Yes.

Will these last longer drilling aluminum? Or would they be overkill for aluminum?

Should be fine. As a matter of fact I believe that most if these drill bits are mostly intended to be use in wood and aluminum as a matter of practicality; anything else is a matter of you get what you pay for.

It appears that these bits are titanium coated but they are not even hardened to minimum hardness standards. As for the high speed part they overheat using cutting oil.

It would not drill through a Barclay Forge stainless steel meat cleaver, I pushed down so hard the metal snapped in 2.

Don't believe they are made for drilling in brick. You should buy a special masonry bit.

What is the max rpm for this bit?

Don't be rediculous. Ehen bbnit comes to drill bits an particular answer comes to mind. A good rule of thumb is as follows. Nog all drills are the same if you are using a self locking type of drill this kind of drill can only be used to a certain degree of treshold . What do I mean..they all have a limit by which the drill bit can be tighten so therefore your hand can only tighten the bit so much now if you use the one with the key you may be talking a different level of speed and strength given to the job that may be involved. That's what I mean. So perhaps this rule of thumb can be a little more helpfull. Still most drklls as well as drill bits can function within the range of 10 to 10 thousand RPM but it means nothing if the end user has no clue.

what is the best drill bit for drilling holes in cast iron?

I mounted a remodeling toilet flange because I added a 3/4" subfloor. I drilled the existing cast iron flange to mount the new flange. A 1/4" cobalt bit drilled the cast iron easily. You need to slow your drill spindle speed and let the bit do the work. Excessive feed force will snap a cobalt drill bit resulting in a broken bit stub stuck in the cast iron. Your project is very common and very "doable".

I would like to take back my negative review for 7/64 Milwaukee Cobalt bit . The hole I was trying to drill was at the angle and at a difficult location. The drill bit is excellent. I never seen a bit flex so much and not break. P.S. HD, fix the picture and a title for the review pop up. It does not match the link!

works good
I used this bit to drill through some small mending plates and it worked with no issues. I just started with smaller bits and worked my way up to this one. The tip of the bit is nice and bites into material good without slipping. The only dislike is that it is kind of expensive and I wish it could be included in the other cobalt milwaukee drill bit kit that I have. I have had this bit for about a week now and it does meet my expectations. Please hit thumbs up if this was helpful

I like that this bit is meant for hard metal. This is a very sharp bit and does a good job of cutting. The downside that I've noticed is that the cutting edge of the bit easily chips. It's disappointing, considering how much it costs, for the edge to chip and break. If it doesn't chip it does a great job of cutting.

I bought the bit because I needed to drill out a broken bolt on my exhaust system. I tried to start with a 1/8 inch then enlarge to 1/4, then 3/8 inch. The 1/8 nor the 1/4 would not even start to drill, a complete waste of money. I had even ground off the head so was only drilling the shank

Expensive, but a good bit. I drilled 10 holes through 3/8" steel plate before the first bit seemed to be getting dull. I bought the second bit and it broke on the 1st try, so the original bit was used to finish all 18 holes. The photo was after 18 holes were finished.

The holes these bits were producing in 1/8 mild steel were out of round almost triangle in shape and the edge finish in the holes was terrible. Being the most expensive 1/2 bit in the store I would expect much better performance. I was drilling on a drill press and it was a night and day difference between the Milwaukee and dewalt. I will never buy these bits again. In the image hole with dewalt bits on left. Brand new Milwaukee on right.
