Does not give a clean edge, even in wood
Read the praise on the package. Paid the insane amount for this bit assuming that if it good for cutting in steel, it should be perfect for wood. Drilled in red oak for stair balusters but was shocked to see how badly it damaged the edges, see attached photo. Not again, Milwaukee!!!

    Couldn't drill one hole!
I purchased this $30 drill bit to drill two holes through a motorcycle sprocket. After almost 20 minutes, with the use of oil, I had to give up. Couldn't drill one lousy hole! The package shows it is for steal. Maybe light steel but that's about it. I had to return it for a refund.

got the job done but broke
It got the job done. I had to cut through hardened steel and it cut through easily except at the end it got stuck and broke in half. Luckily for me i had an extra 5/8 that was burnt out to deburr and get the hole finished up. Expensive bit for something that easily broke.

I'm drilling out some 60 year old, replacement track plates for my 1950 crawler. The drill bit has done a great job plowing though old bolts and welding build-up. It has held up to the demands of the project. Seems plenty sharp after a series of 10 holes with another 20 to go..

        Strong and effeicient
I got this titanium drill bit to install a peep hole in my front metal door. I followed the instructions and drilled a small pilot hole and then used the 9/16 drill bit. I drilled half way through one side and then tackled the other side, then went all the way through. It was a very smooth operation and this drill bit worked fantastically, not leaving one rough edge, dent, or tear. See my photos below. I used my half inch drill and it fit perfectly and worked like a charm. There is no wear or even any signs of usage on the drill bit. It's a keeper and will remain a part of my tool box.

        Quality bit makes precision holes
Silver and Deming style drill bits have a half inch shank so they can all be gripped in a half inch chuck in order to drill large holes. I have had an old imported set for over a decade and it has served me well, but a few of the bits are showing their age so I am replacing them with excellent Milwaukee bits. The shank has three flats, so there is no chance of the bit slipping in the chuck. I have tried drilling holes in steel with large bits with a low speed hand drill but I find I cannot get enough pressure to get effective cutting, the bit just rubs the metal without forming long chips. With cutting oil and a good drill press I can use this bit to cut through 3/8 inch mild steel plate in just a few seconds. The TN coating means that the bit should hold its sharpness much longer than bits without coating.

It fractured the cutting edge the first time I used it!!! I'm a retired automotive machinist (35 years) so don't tell me I don't know how to use a drill bit. You asked and now you have my answer. $21 down the drain except I know how to resharpen drill bits, but should not have to waste my time on a new one that cost over $20 plus tax!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
