I've been wanting one of these for a long time
I don't know how many times I could have used a scraper blade like this before but I ended up just using a hand scraper or sanding. I had some 4" guttering that needing scraping so I thought it would be a good application for the 5" blade. The blade did scrape the paint off but the process was touchy due to the angle of the blade against the surface in order to scrape and not gouge. I am anxious to try the blade for other jobs like knocking down the mud on a painted textured ceiling in order to lessen the texture look or eliminate it totally by sanding afterwords. Ultimately a more narrow blade may be better for some jobs.

You know the type of people...
This tool works great and will last provided you use it correctly and don't bend over backwards to try and break it. We've all seen these kinds of people on the jobsite who blame every problem that arises on the tool, machine, or someone else but when you see how they use it or their overall quality of work....the truth certainly becomes more apparent for who's to blame. Make sure you've got it at the right angle, run a diamond file or med/high metal polisher over it loses it's edge, have a little patience and this thing performs great. People use this thing like it's a 5lb sms jackhammer bit while they crank down on the trigger non stop and then wonder why it broke or blame the tool because they used it in a manner it wasn't at all designed for. Usually followed with something like "WeLl iVe bEeN dOiN tHiS fOr 30 YeArS!?! i GoT iT aLl fIgUrEd OuT!". The same ones who use phrases like "that's good enough" or "no ones going to see that mistake" on a daily basis because they're incredibly lazy or delusional. Yea i know guys that've been building houses for 30 years too, and the hacks still couldn't find a right angle or straight line if it kicked them in the face and despite their claims of overwhelming knowledge on the subject or in the trade, their work determines that's obviously a lie or maybe they're just too blinded by their own cognitive dissonance to see reality or produce quality results. Practice doesn't make perfect, practice makes permanent. So take these reviews (and many others) with a grain of salt if you will and weed through properly.

    breaks easily
attached to saw-zall to scrape thinset pieces following up from my small jack hammer tile & backer demo. Just OK results. Unfortunately, the piece broke at the shaft on ~day 2. If it were a $5 tool, I wouldn't be bothered, but it was $20 for 1 1/2 days of working it. My suggestion would be to use it for not as heavy duty application...but for things like paint and linoleum, why not just scrape by hand?

Great concept, but needs improvement as manufacture needs to do some real world testing. I purchased 3 of these to scrape up 160 square feet of glued linoleum with the hope to make life easier. Each tool failed from 10- 20 square feet each, always broke through tang in short order. Tool did perform great until it broke.

Used this to take off carpet padding that was glued to the subfloor. Did a great job with this job and turned a monotonous task into a very quick one.
